Mini Review: Right Next Door by: Leah Montgomery

Release Date: October 30, 2019
Goodreads | Amazon
Source: I received a complementary copy of this book from the author and voluntarily provided a fair and honest review.
"John and Marcy Stanley moved to The Coves for the quiet life. When the two meet the couple next door, they think they’ve struck neighbor gold. Jill and Marcy become fast friends, but It isn’t until Marcy receives an ominous letter that she begins to suspect Jill’s husband, Mark of hiding something.

Something dark.
Something violent.

Shannon Vogle was the victim of an elaborate kidnapping. After being set free, she becomes obsessed with finding the man who took her.

Who tortured her.
Who changed her.

Both women want answers.
Both are determined to get them.
Neither is prepared for what she will find."

My Thoughts:

Leah Montgomery delivers once again and it is so hard to write a review for this book. So I’m going to keep this short and sweet because there are so many things I could spoil. I don’t read this genre all that often, but I enjoyed Leah Montgomery’s debut so I could not pass this up and I am so glad I read this one. The book kept me on the edge of my seat and I just could not stop reading. The book is addictive and engaging and oh holy wow the twists took me by surprise. I read a lot, so I’m not always caught off guard, but this book got me good. And not once, but twice. The character dynamics in this book are so detailed and complex and this book has so many layers to be pulled back. And the way she balances the differing perspectives and slowly pulls them together is done perfectly. The writing in this book is so good and feels so effortless when we all know it is not. This author just knows how to tell a story and knows how to tell it well. Just, all in all, a great read.

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
