Book Review: Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega #1) by: Patricia Briggs

Release Date: July 29, 2008

"Anna never knew werewolves existed, until the night she survived a violent attack... and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. Then Charles Cornick, the enforcer—and son—of the leader of the North American werewolves, came into her life.

Charles insists that not only is Anna his mate, but she is also a rare and valued Omega wolf. And it is Anna's inner strength and calming presence that will prove invaluable as she and Charles go on the hunt in search of a rogue werewolf—a creature bound in magic so dark that it could threaten all of the pack.

It is recommended you read the prequel "Alpha & Omega" before reading Cry Wolf."

My Thoughts:

This world is so fascinating and I am so hooked. I loved Moon Called, Mercy is my girl, so I was hesitant to leave Mercy and go hang out with Anna and Charles. But man did I love them both so much.

Anna is so great! She is so strong, but different in the way than Mercy is strong and I love it. I love when our heroines show their strength in a way that is different from the norm and that is Anna. She has been dealt such a bad hand, but she never lets it fully break her and she perseveres. And Charles! What a mother hen he is! I adored him. He can be so closed off, but Anna just gets to him. And I adored them together. They just complement one another so well and while I needed them to communicate a bit better, I loved watching their journey.

Aside from Charles and Anna, I am just coming to love this world and all its characters. Bran is just so sweet yet such a strong leader. Asil won me over and I felt so bad for what he has been through. I loved seeing sweet puppy Sam again. And Sage! I know we will get along splendidly. Leah though… she can go die in a fire.

All in all, Cry Wolf is just so good. I am so hooked on this world and I want to just devour them all.

  1. I love strong characters like Anna. The relationship between her and Charles sounds fun to read about. I love when the female lead can get to the male lead like no one else. All of the characters in this series sound great and these books sound fantastic! Great Review Teresa!

  2. Aah! Yay I'm so glad you loved this one. I felt like this one was such a hidden gem. I have such feelings for this story. It's one of those for me that because of Anna's struggle and past trauma I couldn't help but love her 3000! Charles is such a sweetie. I loved his and Anna's relationship and how he is with her. So dang happy you liked this one!

  3. I love this series, too! Anna and Charles are the best, and I have a special fondness for Asil. Yes, Leah can go die in a fire! Wonderful review, Teresa Mary Rose! Can't wait to hear what you think of the rest of the series! :)
