"From #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes the next installment in her Wicked series.

As Caden and Brighton's attraction grows despite the odds stacked against a happily ever after, they must work together to stop an Ancient fae from releasing the Queen, who wants nothing more than to see Caden become the evil Prince once feared by fae and mortals alike.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**"

My Thoughts:

The King was another great addition to the Wicked series and I just really love this world JLA has created here. These fae can be so brutal and this world is so dangerous but I love it. It is no secret I am a big JLA fan, but her fantasy stuff always seems to be my favorite and I am so glad that she continued the Wicked series with these novellas. I love Brighton and Caden and I just love catching up with Ivy, Ren, and Tink again.

Brighton is an incredible character and I love her so much. She is so resilient and so strong and will not let others dictate what she can and cannot do. I love her sass and how she stands up for what she wants and thinks is right. Brighton goes through a lot in this novella and it truly broke my heart. And of course I love Caden too… he can run so hot and cold but as a reader you know there is a lot more going on there than meets the eye and it just endears you to him. I love the back and forth between Brighton and Caden and they have intense chemistry. I also love catching up with some of my favorite characters. It is great to see Ren and Ivy still going strong and of course I love me some Tink.

All in all, The King was hard to put down and I easily read it in one sitting. This novella is a bit of a game changer and the events of this book are going to have some serious ramifications and I so cannot wait to see how it all plays out in the next novella. Just another great read from JLA.

  1. JLA is my favorite author too, and while I love her contemporary stories, her fantasy books are my favorite. I'm behind on the Wicked Series, but have loved every book I've read so far. This sounds like another excellent addition, and Brighton sounds like a character that I'd love and root for. It looks like I need to catch up. Awesome Review Teresa!
