"Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.

When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…"

My Thoughts:

We all know I am a huge JLA fan, but her Dark Elements series is probably one of my favorites of hers, so I had super high expectations going back to this world and I have to say it delivered in every single way. I absolutely adored Trinity and I loved catching up with some old friends again and I devoured this book.

Trinity is so incredible and I loved her. She is so much fun and just such a badass. She is the strongest one of them all and I love how she knows that and owns it and will not be kept down. And I just liked her… she was quick witted and just didn’t take anyone’s crap and I feel like we would have gotten along well. And Zayne. I already knew I loved Zayne, but I really liked watching him get some time to shine on his own. The Layla/Zayne/Roth love triangle is one of my favorites and it is one of my favorites because I absolutely adored both Roth and Zayne…. HOWEVER I was FIRMLY in the Team Roth camp as I made my way through The Dark Elements (look I have a thing for bad boy demons with a ton of sass and a secret heart of gold)… but with Zayne getting the time to shine and me not being distracted and enamored by Roth I really came to appreciate Zayne even more than I already did and my gosh that boy is funny. He and Trinity have such fun banter and I loved their back and forth. Nobody does banter better than JLA. And of course their chemistry was so crazy. It was also so much fun getting to catch up with Layla and Roth again because Roth is just such a sassy and wonderful Prince of Hell and I love Layla to bits and pieces.

And it’s not just the characters that kept me hooked, but the plot as well. The romance was of course wonderful, that goes without saying. But the plot held so many twists and turns and I absolutely devoured the book. I had so many guesses and I just had to keep reading so I could find my answers. And I am so super stressed by the events in this book and the possibility of where things are going to go. Look I just want Zayne and Trinity to be happy but I have a feeling things are not going to be easy for them and like hasn’t Zayne suffered enough…. apparently not. But I cannot wait to see where this series goes and I am going to stress out waiting for the next installment. I have yet to read a JLA book I didn’t love, but her paranormal books always seem to top the list for me and this world may just be my favorite of them all (nobody tell Daemon and Aiden).

Storm And Fury was an addictive and fantastic read and I absolutely devoured it. I seriously just finished it and I already want to go back to the beginning and read it all over again. If you were a fan of the Dark Elements series, you are going to love this spin off and if you are new to this world I still encourage you to dive right in.

  2. I loved this book too, and had missed all of the characters from The Dark Elements Series as well! I was Team Roth just like you! I'm glad Zayne gets to shine and his humor and the banter between him and Trinity was one of my favorite things about this story also. I can't wait for the next book! Awesome Review Teresa!
