"Remember how many lies we told, Molly? It’s enough to make my head spin. You were wild when I met you, and I was mad for you. But then something happened. And now you’re gone.

But don’t worry. I’ll find you. I just need to sift through the story of us to get to where you might be. I’ve got places to look, and a list of names.

The police have a list of names, too. See now? There’s another lie. There is only one person they’re really looking at, Molly.

And that’s yours truly."

My Thoughts:

This one has such an addictive quality to it and it is very easy to speed through. There are a lot of twists and turns along the way. It’s so hard to peg down what is happening and I had many theories along the way.

Cobain is the definition of an unreliable narrator which keeps the reader constantly on edge. Is he telling the truth? Is he lying? Does he not know? It’s so tough on the reader but you really like him so you don’t want to believe the bad possibilities. And then there is Molly and she’s not exactly trustworthy either. So much of herself was fabricated that you can’t peg her down either. It makes for such an unputdownable read.

The way this story is written though it’s almost disconnected from the characters so it takes a while to really connect with them and care, but being that there is so much going on here it needed to be that way. You can’t know these characters too well otherwise you’d see through all the layers. The story moves at a really quick pace and it goes from one moment to the next in the blink of an eye. I had so many theories along the way and all I wanted was to get to the end and see if I was right.

We Told Six Lies is another good read from Victoria Scott. It’s a super addictive read that keeps you on edge. I sped through this one because I needed my answers and definitely recommend to those who enjoy reads that keep you guessing.

  1. I have had some luck with unreliable narrators in the past. I will have to look for this one. Great review!

  2. I love an unreliable narrator so this appeals to me

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
