Mini Review: The Wicked Ones (Ghosts Of The Shadow Market #6) by: Cassandra Clare & Robin Wasserman

Release Date: September 11, 2018
from Shadow Market Enterprises
Goodreads | Amazon

"Celine Montclaire goes to the Shadow Market to escape. She would go anywhere in Paris, or the entire world, to escape the suffering she experiences at the hands of her family. She did not expect to meet Valentine Morgenstern there, or to have him promise her freedom and the heart of the man she secretly loves. On one condition, of course. At the Shadow Market, nothing is for free."

My Thoughts:

I have loved these novellas, but I admit I was a bit nervous about this one. I don’t particularly like The Circle (obviously) and I hate Stephen Herondale and the dishonor he brings to that name. In a line of so many amazing people he is a real turd and I just didn’t know if I’d have sympathy for Celine. But I was curious to see how things played out. And at the end of it all I still don’t really like Celine, but it’s so easy to see how she fell in with Valentine. She was alone and had nobody and Valentine preyed on that. And when she had the chance to finally have what she always wanted, she made the selfish and wrong choice. I can see what led her to these decisions and I sympathize but I don’t have to like her for it. And Stephen is still a turd. I did enjoy the Jem storyline here with his hunt for the lost Herondale. I’m really excited to see how this is all going to develop. I mean we all know it leads to Kit, but how is my question. These novellas have been so great for filling out this world and I can’t wait for the next one.

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
