My Thoughts:

The Shadowhunter world is one of my all time favorites and The Infernal Devices is a series that holds a special place in my heart, but in recent years I have fallen behind on the new releases and the time has come for me to rectify that. So I finally made my way through The Bane Chronicles and overall it was a fun ride and I really loved getting to spend some more time with Magnus. I especially loved visiting with some of my favorites again (WILL AND TESSA AND JEM). So here is a quick recap of each of the novellas in The Bane Chronicles and my quick thoughts on each.

What Really Happened In Peru: This was a really short and fun read. It was nice hanging out with Magnus again, even if I never really truly found out what happened in Peru.

The Runaway Queen: I enjoyed this one more than I enjoyed the first. It was quick and fun and Magnus is always great. It also helps you start to understand how Magnus became Magnus.

Vampires, Scones, And Edmund Herondale: Those Herondale boys really know how to steal your heart. For a short book this one packed a punch.

The Midnight Heir: WILL AND JEM AND TESSA AND MY HEART. I forever love those three and Will is still as dramatic as ever. My only complaint is that this book definitely feels more like a prologue of a story to come and not it’s own individual story.

The Rise Of The Hotel Dumort: I really enjoyed the setting of this one and how it all played out against the backdrop of the stock market crash. These stories get better as the anthology moves along.

Saving Raphael Santiago: This was interesting getting the deeper backstory for Raphael. Funny too.

The Fall Of The Hotel Dumort: This one wasn’t my favorite. Nothing about it really grabbed me. Still love Magnus though.

What To Buy The Shadowhunter Who Has Everything: This one is my favorite of the novellas so far. Magnus is SO endearing and adorable. And gosh he is so gone for Alec and it’s too much.

The Last Stand Of The New York Institute: This one was fantastic! I loved getting to see the backstory on the Circle and seeing the first time Jocelyn met Magnus. And I got to see my fave Tessa!

The Course Of True Love (And First Dates): This was adorable. I forever love Magnus and Alec.

The Voicemail Of Magnus Bane: I had the pleasure of experiencing this at the City of Heavely Fire launch event in NYC. Cassie Clare and the other authors there read this aloud and it was hysterical. Such a fun little story.
