"For too long, Violet and the people of the outer circles of the Lone City have lived a life of
servitude, controlled and manipulated by the royalty of the Jewel. But now, the secret society known as the Black Key is preparing to seize power and knock down the walls dividing each circle.

And while Violet knows she is at the center of this rebellion, she has a more personal stake in it—for her sister, Hazel, has been taken by the Duchess of the Lake. Now, after fighting so hard to escape the Jewel, Violet must do everything in her power to return, to save not only Hazel, but the future of the Lone City."

My Thoughts:

I am so glad I finally made time to read this conclusion. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and I’ve been dying to know how it all came together, but so many books so little time. This was a solid conclusion and it finally brought everything together and gave us the answers we’ve been dying for.

Violet has really come into her own and I love how strong she has become. She is so compassionate and truly cares, but is willing to do what has to be done and will put herself in danger if need be. She has come so far over the course of the trilogy and I love that.

One character who really surprised me was Carnelian. She was truly a pleasant surprise and I really appreciated that. Also loved Raven and Garnet. Garnet is probably one of my favorite characters in the series. I will admit that I was super disappointed with how absent Ash was from this book. I know it’s not his story, but I didn’t expect him to be off page so much and I missed him. He is the best and I ate up every moment with him.

This book was fast paced and addictive. It pulled together all the loose threads and gave the reader the answers they needed. I really enjoyed how it all came together and the conclusion delivered.

The Black Key was a great wrap up to the series. This was a fun series and I’m forever in love with the gorgeous covers.
