"Looming war threatens all Feyre holds dear in the third volume of the #1 New York Times bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all."

My Thoughts:

***spoilers for ACOTAR and ACOMAF***

THIS is how you write a conclusion! And yes I know there are more stories in this world to come, but this is the end of Feyre’s story. This is by far my favorite book of the year and the only book that has a shot of taking its place is Tower Of Dawn. I had ridiculously high expectations for this book and it surpassed every single one of them. Concluding a story is always hard, but this was the perfect way to do so.

I can never fully describe how much I love Feyre. She has gone through so much and just continues to get stronger. She is a force to be reckoned with and High Lady Feyre is a badass. It would have been so easy for her to break and stay broken, but she didn’t stay down and became even stronger for it and I love that.

Of course I’m also wildly in love with Rhysand. It’s hard to find words to convey how much I adore him. I adore him for his willingness to sacrifice everything for his friends and for his courage and strength and for still being a wonderful person despite the horrors he faced. I love how he loves Feyre and truly treats her as his equal. There is just so much to love there.

Then we have our secondary characters who I adore almost as much as Feyre and Rhys. I LOVE all the badass ladies and that there is such a wide variety of strong women in this book. You have Mor who has the face of a princess but can decimate you on a battle field. Amren who is tiny and cranky and the strongest of them all. Nesta who drives me insane but that girl is steel. And Elain. Sweet and quiet Elain who is her own brand of strong. Of course I love our boys too. Azriel and Cassian are absolutely wonderful and I love what they bring to the story. Azriel with his quiet strength and dry humor and Cassian with his brashness and wit. These characters together create such an amazing dynamic.

Aside from the characters, I just love this world. It is so vast but laid out so well. The different courts are so wonderful and I can’t wait to visit more of them in future books, although I know the Night Court will forever hold a special place in my heart. And I love the world outside the courts too and I hope we get to see more of that as well.

A Court Of Wings And Ruin delivered in every single way. I sobbed at times and at others I was deliriously happy. I was taken by surprise more than once and the story didn’t go at all the way I expected but the way it went was better than I could have ever imagined. If it sounds like I’m gushing it’s because I am. I adore this author and her books in a way I haven’t loved a series since I read Harry Potter as a child. I know I will continue to revisit these books again and again.

  3. While I loved this book, it def doesn't knock of ACOMAF as my fave of all time, lol. I guess the buildup was too much and I was expecting a bit more. In any case, it was a great ending.
