"She’s got a broken heart...
and a fully loaded arsenal....

Ex–army ranger Jim Morgan leads a team of elite mercenaries, but eighteen years ago in Paris, he was part of a black ops unit whose mission was to hunt down a rogue operative. In order to trap the criminal, Jim seduced Noelle, the man’s daughter—a ruthless act that cost him the love of his life and turned her into a mortal enemy. Now he can’t trust her, but he still desires her. He also needs her help....

Older, wiser, and unwilling to play the fool again, Noelle runs a group of highly skilled assassins. And she’s just been offered the hit of the century: Eliminate Jim Morgan. History gives them no reason to trust each other, but with their lives in jeopardy at the hands of a common enemy, the lines between love and hate are soon blurred. Now Noelle and Jim must face the past if they want to have a future—let alone a future together."

My Thoughts:

I will never get over how insanely addictive this series is. I’m going to be honest here, Noelle and Jim have never been my favorite characters, so I went into this one fully expecting to enjoy it but prepared not to love it as much as the rest of the series. Welp I was wrong. This one turned out to be one of my favorites. It’s probably only beat out by Midnight Captive and Midnight Games. This book was just crazy addictive.

Like I said, Noelle and Jim were never my favorites (and honestly there are still other characters I love more) but holy crap their chemistry is off the charts. There is a fine line between love and hate and Jim and Noelle constantly straddle that line. Their past is full of hurt and betrayal, but despite all that they are clearly drawn to one another and as a reader you want them to make it work so badly. This was one of the few times where I really doubted if they could make it work. It just seemed so unlikely but I wanted it so damn badly and that made the story so much sweeter. And the chemistry was just insane. There was so much tension between Jim and Noelle and it made their scenes explosive.

What also made this book addictive was the suspense angle. This story had so many twists and turns and I loved watching it all play out. I also loved finally finding out what went down with Noelle and Jim all those years ago. The story kept me on the edge of my seat and turning pages because I had to get my answers.

Of course this series wouldn’t be what it is without the secondary characters. I loved that this one had a decent amount of Sean time because he is my favorite. And I loved seeing Bailey too because she is awesome. Of course Sully and Liam and their entire story has me captivated. I love those two hard. I also love our new rookie Ash and Cate is another wonderful addition. I just love every single character.

Midnight Action was a crazy addictive read and now that I’m all caught up to where I originally started the series I’m at a loss. I never want this series to end. Seriously I want to put this book in everyone’s hands. Don’t miss this series.
