"From the # 1 New York Times and International bestselling author comes a richly moving story about heartbreak and guilt, second chances and hope. Full of familiar, fan-favorite characters and no two people more deserving of a happy ending, Fire In You will burn bright beyond the last page…Jillian Lima’s whole world was destroyed in a span of a few hours. The same night her childhood love, Brock ‘the Beast’ Mitchell, broke her heart, her life was irrevocably altered by the hand of a stranger with a gun. It takes six years to slowly glue together the shattered pieces of her life, but Jillian is finally ready to stop existing in a past full of pain and regret. She takes a job at her father’s martial arts Academy and she’s going out on her first date since a failed relationship that was more yuck than yum. Jillian is determined to start living.
She just never expected Brock to be a part of her life again. But he’s firmly back in her life before she knows it, and not only is he older, he’s impossibly more handsome, more teasing and more everything. And when he sees Jillian, he’s no longer capable of thinking of her as the little girl who was his shadow growing up or the daughter of the man who gave him a second chance at life. He sees the woman who’d always been there for him, the one person who believed in him no matter what.
Brock knows she’s the one he should’ve made his, and what begins as a tentative friendship quickly turns to red-hot chemistry that sparks a flame that burns brighter than lust. Falling for Brock again risks more than her heart, because when the sorrow-filled and guilt-ridden past resurfaces, and a web of lies threatens to rip them apart, the fallout could lay waste to everything they’ve fought to build together, and destroy the dreams of those they care most about."

My Thoughts:

Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors and I’ve yet to read a book by her that I didn’t love, so it’s really no surprise that I loved Fire In You. Jillian and Brock are great characters and I really loved catching up with our other couples from past books. I’m really sad to see this series come to a close, but Fire In You was a great way to say goodbye.

I absolutely adore Jillian. I knew from the start I was going to like her. I related to Jillian in a lot of ways and that made me love her and the story even more. My heart broke for her and her backstory but I was also so proud of the way she turned things around. I also loved Brock. He is very easy to fall for and is just easy to love. He is determined and clearly a good guy and he is so swoony. You really root for these two. Their chemistry is insane and you want them to have this second chance.

With this one, I especially loved the buildup of the romance. It really builds and then the payoff is worth it. I also loved Jillian’s family and the way they embraced Brock as one of their own. I’m a big fan of friends to lovers and second chance romances and this one kind of delivered both, so it’s no wonder it was a hit for me. I also loved her cat Rhage because of course I did.

It’s always fun catching up with previous couples and I loved seeing how far they’ve come. It makes my heart happy seeing how happy they are and how their lives have turned out. I am seriously going to miss every single one of these characters.

Fire In You was a hit for me and it was a great end to a great series. Brock and Jillian have a great story to tell and romance fans will love this one.

Character Q&A:

For my stop on the tour I was lucky enough to ask Cam and Avery (Wait For You) a few questions!

Hey guys! Thanks for much for dropping by today. It’s been a while since we have gotten to spend some time with you two. Is there anything you want to share with us about the past few years to catch us up on your lives?
Cam – We’ve had a lot going on the past few years with our family and our friends. Avery has something huge in the works, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone just yet.

Since Jillian and Brock are the stars of the show, if you had to describe each of them twitter style, how would you do it?
Cam – Brock #onlythebestmmafighterever #guycrush
            Jillian #pleasedontstopbabysitting
Avery – Brock #camsobsession
               Jillian #oneofthegirls #sogladwearefriends

What advice, if any, would you give to Jillian and Brock for the future, based on the things you two have learned?
Cam – Don’t become too fond of any Walking Dead character.
Avery – I don’t think that’s what the interviewer was actually asking, Cam!

You’re in charge of planning a surprise date for Jillian and Brock. What do you two plan for them and why?
Avery – Oh! Let’s plan something romantic. It’s taken Jillian and Brock a long time to get together, so I think they deserve the romance.
Cam – I’m not sure I want to plan a surprise date for Jillian and Brock because then we won’t have Jillian to babysit for us. Why don’t we just plan a cookout with all of our friends? We can just hang out together.

And last but not least, is there anything you can tell us readers about yourselves and the gang that we wouldn’t necessarily know from reading the series?
Avery – Cam almost passed out when I gave birth to Ava.
Cam – That’s actually true.

Thanks again for dropping by! It was great to have you here!

  2. Is it bad that I've given up on this series? I wasn't totally sold on it over the years (I haaaaaaated Wait For You, LOL), and the series just kind of dragged on for me. :/ I wish I could get back into these books because I do love JLA. I'm glad you really related to Jillian and liked her! Liking/hating the heroine can really make or break the story. =)

    Great review, Teresa!

  4. I can't wait to get back to this series and get to this last book. It sounds so good! Great review, and I adored the character interview. My fave was Cam's advice about TWD. Very sage advice, Cam. I also learned a little something about the two of them that I didn't know yet, so I am REALLY excited to pick up where I left off with this series. Wonderful post, wifey pants!
