"From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes another dark, sexy story…
Is she brave enough to give her heart to a man she only thought she knew?
He was the most charismatic man I’d ever met. Strong, tough, brave. Bold as hell. Something told me Tag Barton could have anything—anyone—he wanted...and he wanted me. It didn’t matter that he was wrong for me in practically every way possible. It didn’t matter that my father would hate it.
I couldn’t resist him. Even if I’d known who he really was and what he was really capable of.
When he suggested we pretend to be engaged, I thought he was the answer to all my problems. He wasn’t. And, in his wake, he left nothing but scorched earth and me, just another casualty of my father’s war.
Can I believe him now when he tells me he loves me? Or is he nothing more than a beautiful, breathtaking lie?"
My Thoughts:We all have a few select authors who we know that no matter what we will always love their books. Michelle is one of those authors for me. I’ve yet to come across a book from her I didn’t thoroughly enjoy and Brave Enough was no exception. She delivered a great story once again.
I wanted to reach through this book and squeeze Weatherly. That poor poor girl. Her family is a piece of work and what they want from her is ridiculous. Then my heart absolutely shattered for her when the one thing she does on her own falls apart. I was so mad on her behalf.
Then we have Tag, who like all of Michelle’s men was so so swoony. But I’m not going to lie, there is something Tag does that I have a hard time forgiving. Weatherly is a much better person than I am because I’m still kinda holding the grudge here (granted, I am incredibly stubborn). I’m 100% Team Weatherly here and Tag deserved every single bit of pain he went through as a result of the thing he did. I’m happy they worked it out (I mean this is a romance lol) and I’m happy Weatherly is happy because I love that girl but Tag had some serious groveling to do and it’s a good thing he was good at goveling. It was such a struggle loving Tag but being so mad at him. Michelle…. please stop messing with my emotions, they can't handle this (jk never stop).
The twist in this one caught me off guard. I’m usually such a good twist guesser too and I didn’t see this one coming and I loved that. I loved being shocked and surprised and it had me turning pages as fast as I could.
This book was also crazy schmexy. Michelle knows how to write delicious scenes and this book delivers them quickly. I will never look at grapes the same way again… or mud for that matter. It was hot and sweet and swoony and everything I expect from Michelle.
Brave Enough is a great wrap up to the Tall Dark and Dangerous series. Rogan is forever my favorite from this series (loved seeing him again) but Tag put up some series competition (despite his dumb moment). All in all, another great M. Leighton read.
Make sure you enter the giveaway I have going on for Brave Enough!
