The Monday Musts 2/22/2016

The Monday Musts is a weekly feature hosted by the awesome Jessica at Lovin Los Libros. This is a fun way to share a must read book, a must listen to song/album/artist, and a must see (can be anything). I'm really excited to be taking part in this feature and I'm sure it will be a ton of fun.

Must Read:
This week I am recommending Slumber  by Samantha Young. I first fell in love with Samantha's books when I read On Dublin Street (which remains one of my all time favorites). But recently I finally dived into one of her fantasy books and I adored it. Slumber was a great read with a great world and a wonderful slow burn romance.

Must Listen:
If I'm being honest, I'm still listening to Hamilton non-stop. But I figure I can't keep sharing Hamilton stuff. I mean I just did the Hamilton tag over the weekend haha. So I decided to feature a song from another one of my favorite Broadway plays.. Newsies. Guys... this play was so ridiculously good. The dance nerd in me was obsessed with the choreography. Seize The Day is my favorite song from the soundtrack and I hope you guys like it too.

Must See:
My nerd side is showing here, but don't care. On a whim recently I put on the Star Wars Clone Wars TV Cartoon on Netflix. I really don't know what prompted this, I think I was looking for something that I wouldn't really need to focus on and I somehow wound up here. Well color me surprised when I became addicted and just kept watching episode after episode. It really is a lot of fun. Unlike a lot of people, I liked the prequel trilogy, they aren't the original movies but I still enjoyed them and teenage Teresa had a hardcore crush on Anakin Skywalker. I have been known to do full scene by scene breakdowns of things that could have gone differently and prevented his downfall. But anyway, one of my favorite parts of the prequels is the beginning of Revenge of the Sith and the back and forth between Obi Wan and Anakin. I loved their relationship there and basically this cartoon is a lot of that banter. There are also some great new characters and basically it is just fun.

  1. I need to pick up more books by Young! I really loved On Dublin Street! *High five* For Clone Wars! I've only been able to catch a few random episodes, but it is such a good show! When I can, I'm hoping to actually watch it as well :)

  2. Me and the bf started the Clone Wars a while back, but we only made it through season 1 - we were actually just talking about how we need to restart the series. I quite liked the prequel trilogy too - I mean, it wasn't perfect (especially the first one) but I still watch them every time we do a Star Wars rewatch! I have a HUGE crush on Ewan McGregor too so that helps LOL! Like you, I really love Anakin and Obi's friendship and banter :D Oh and I've always wanted to watch Newsies and you just reminded me of that so thanks!

  8. I will definitely check out Slumber. I've heard Young does fantasy/paranormal really well. I guess that's not a surprise. ;) Newsies...that's a musical I wanted to take my younger daughter to see. Maybe someday. But I wonder if she'd like the soundtrack?!?

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
