"Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave."

Nicole Speaks:

I had fallen in love with this series more than I had ever expected to, but if I am being entirely honest book four infuriated me especially in comparison to the amazing first three books.  There were major problems within the vampire world, and they seemed more preoccupied with arguing with each other. Don't get me wrong, I am not mad that they had relationship problems. It would be extremely naive of me to imagine they would never fight again and that they would have some fake perfect relationship.  Their huge dramatic and almost detrimental fight didn't bother me at all. But the never ending whiny fighting before that made me furious. There was so much going on why must they bicker every 5 pages!?  And then after they were done fighting, for her to just write her attitude off as a side effect of medicine? I was extremely angry at the characters in the book. The main redeeming aspect of the book was how close she  got with Vlad while fighting with Bones. I love Vlad and they have an amazing friendship.  Vlad seems like one of her only guy friends where she doesn't have to worry about any secret feelings.  I might have been very angry reading this book, but I still love the story and characters.  I'm really hoping the next book in this series leaves me as happy as the first three did!

  1. I have almost this entire series on my kindle, but haven't started it. I've heard some really bad things about the books later in the series and I'm worried I'll start it, like it and then slowly become more disappointed in it. Hate that.

Hey, but if it made you so furious, well... the author won. :) That's the point, isn't it? If you read something and feel nothing from it, it's pretty much a failure.

Perhaps I'll add the first of this series to my immediate to read list..

  2. I can't wait to start this series; and even though this book made you angry, I'm so happy to hear it didn't change your love of the characters. Hopefully the next book gets you back to your happy place :)
    Great review, Nicole!

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
