Book Review: Greta And The Lost Army (Mylena Chronicles #3) by: Chloe Jacobs

Release Date: February 1, 2016
from Entangled Teen
Goodreads | Amazon
Source: I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
"After spending the last four years trapped in a place of monsters, demons, and magick, the last thing the fierce teenage bounty hunter Greta expected was to ever be back on Earth. But a rare opportunity gives her and the Goblin King Isaac the opportunity to do just that. Now she’s home. With a boy in tow. And her parents have lots of questions.

Although Greta finally has her heart’s deepest wish—to see her family again—every step she takes to reconnect with them drives her further away from Isaac. Greta and Isaac planned for her to return to Mylena and become his queen, but she’s not sure if she can go back to that harsh world, though staying on Earth means giving up the boy she loves.

But a powerful enemy refuses to let Greta escape. A demon who will stop at nothing to destroy her and everything she loves. Even if it means following her to Earth and forcing her to face a fate as unavoidable as love itself."

My Thoughts:

What a conclusion! Series conclusions always make me nervous, because there is just so much you want to happen, but Greta and the Lost Army delivered in every single way. I have loved this series and I’m so sad that I have to say goodbye but I say goodbye in the most content way possible. This was a solid conclusion and I devoured it. The moment I started reading I did not stop until I was done.

Greta is such a fantastic heroine and I love that this is her story. She is the main driver and the one who saves the day. She is willing to go to extreme lengths and she never thinks of giving up. I love how much she has grown over the course of the series and I loved watching her come to realize how strong she really is.

Of course I adore Isaac. I think it’s safe to say I’m one of his biggest fan girls and my oh my did he deliver. I mean, I’ve always love him but he outdid himself in this one and I was super happy with how much Isaac we got in this book. I think my favorite thing about Isaac… aside from his swoon… is how he complements Greta. He knows she is strong and can take care of herself and while he is protective he never tries to hold her back. He helps her and they work as a team and most importantly he believes in her and knows she has to potential to do great things. That is so important.

I also love our secondary characters. I really warmed up to Wyatt and Siona is so fierce! Of course the villain is creepy and I hate him, which is exactly how it should be.

The world building is another thing I love. Mylena feels so real and I can visualize it so well! And the way Chloe blended our world with Mylena in this one was fantastic. It was a great balance between the two. Then we have the plot, which had my stomach in knots. For the last ten percent I really thought I was going to be sick I was so damn nervous. I was freaking out! And I need to have a special shout out for the prologue and the last line of the book. The prologue was everything! And the last line was the PERFECT way to close out the series.

Greta and the Lost Army was a fantastic conclusion and I am so sad that I have to say goodbye to Greta and Isaac. This is a series that fantasy fans need to add to their TBR. You will not be disappointed.
