Cover Reveal: Need Me by: Tessa Bailey

"From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tessa Bailey, comes the next fun and sexy novel in her Broke and Beautiful trilogy!
“How did this tweed-wearing English professor turn out to be my dirtiest hero ever? Cause he really is.”--Tessa Bailey
When Honey Perribow traded in her cowboy boots for stilettos and left her small Kentucky town to attend Columbia University, she never expected to find a dirt-cheap apartment or two new best friends. No stranger to hard work, Honey’s sole focus is a medical degree...until she sees newly-minted Professor, Ben Dawson, and her concentration is hijacked. Honey is fascinated by her gorgeous, young English professor and vows to find a crack his tweed-wearing, glasses-clad exterior.
While at an off campus party, an accident lands Ben in a dark, locked closet with a sexy-sounding southern belle...and their chemistry is explosive. But when he discovers that the girl in his arms is the same beautiful student he can’t stop thinking about, he is stunned. Student-teacher relationships are strictly forbidden…yet no matter how hard he tries, Ben can’t stay away from Honey.
And when his attempts to fight their attraction nearly ruin the best thing that ever happened to him, Ben will do anything to prove how much he needs her."

Book Review: Salt & Stone (Fire & Flood #2) by: Victoria Scott

Release Date: February 24, 2015 from Scholastic
Goodreads | Amazon
Source: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.
"What would you do to save someone you love?

In Fire & Flood, Tella Holloway faced a dangerous trek through the jungle and across the desert, all to remain a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed for a chance at obtaining the Cure for her brother. She can't quit--she has to win the race, save Cody, and then fight to make sure the race stops before it can claim any more lives. In the next legs of the race, across the ocean and over mountains, Tella will face frostbite, sharks, avalanche, and twisted new rules in the race.

But what if the danger is deeper than that? How do you know who to trust when everyone's keeping secrets? What do you do when the person you'd relied on most suddenly isn't there for support? How do you weigh one life against another?

The race is coming to an end, and Tella is running out of time, resources, and strength. At the start of the race there were one hundred twenty-two Contenders. As Tella and her remaining friends start the final part of the race, just forty-one are left--and only one can win."

My Thoughts:

Holy guacamole did this sequel deliver. No sophomore slump to be found here. Salt & Stone is crazy addictive from beginning to end. It is action packed and fast moving and so hard to put down.

I have to start with Tella because I friggin love Tella. I can’t even begin to express the amount of love I have for her after reading this book. She has grown so much over the course of two books. But what I love most about Tella is how realistic she is. Tella could be any of us. She doesn’t come into this tournament kicking ass and taking names. She comes in terrified and not in any way equipped to deal with this. But she steps up to the challenge. She becomes strong and she learns that she has strength inside her and that she doesn’t need to rely on anyone. Tella learns to stand on her own in this one and she makes everyone around her listen to her and her opinions. Even Guy. I really admired her for this. She didn’t just follow his lead because she likes him. She made him take notice of her and acknowledge that she is capable. She still likes him and cares for him but she doesn’t let him coddle her. I could go on and on about this, but I’ll stop myself here.

Guy, for me, was a bit frustrating in this one. He needed to cut all the hot and cold messages. I got where he was coming from and I understood why he did some of the things he did, but they still made me crazy all the same.

I really love the great cast of secondary characters this series delivers. My favorite probably being Harper. That girl is so tough and I love it. She has dealt with such tragedy and she is pushing forward and I have to admire that. I really love all the strong girls in this book. We also get to meet some new characters and I’m curious to see how one in particular will play out. Oh, and of course the pandoras were as lovable as ever.

I also really enjoyed the pace of Salt & Stone. This book just keeps going. It moves along so fast and keeps your adrenaline pumping. I also really liked how short the chapters are. It’s like opening a bag of candy. You take one and then just keep going. I loved how addictive it was.

Salt & Stone was a great follow up to Fire & Flood. I think I liked it even more than the first book actually. This series is continually getting better and I really cannot wait to see where it goes next.

Weekly Recap 2/22/2015

Once again I got more books than I really need but I have decided to just stop fighting myself on this because clearly I am out of control. I got one freebie this week in Picture Perfect. Then I grabbed some books while they were on sale: Alex (ummm hockey players YES PLEASE) and A Necessary Sin. Then I grabbed Try With Me. I had to get this one. I really like this series and I am excited for Jamie's story. Then I got Losers Weepers since I am on the blog tour and I seriously could not be any more excited. This is one of my all time favorite series and I didn't think we were going to get more BUT we do and I can't wait! I'm coming for you Garth! Then I bought myself copies of Greta and the Goblin King and Greta and the Glass Kingdom. I love this series and I just had to add them to my shelf. My preorder of The Return also arrived. I LOVED this book, so I needed a finished copy. Then I also got myself a copy of Red Queen because I could not resist that cover. Then I got sucked into another book outlet order when they had their Presidents Day sale. So I got The Inheritance Almanac (this was only 99 pennies OMG), Curse of the Bane (really excited to read this series), Ready To Wed, Article 5, Breaking Point, Three, What Happened To Goodbye, Along For The Ride, Romeo Redeemed, and Misunderstandings.

"She rested a hand on his shoulder and lifted onto her knees on the mattress, then lightly touched her lips to his. He didn’t hesitate, instead tilted his head and captured her lips completely. He kissed her with a molten desperation that made her belly tighten and her heart pound. His hand spread across the small of her back, and he pulled her hard against him. His other hand dove into her bed-head hair. She shivered at the scrape of his long incisors on her upper lip. His mouth opened on hers. She answered in kind, and his tongue slipped in to taste her."

It has been a while since I've done a swoon so I am really happy to be back swooning this week. This was a really good read and I loved going back to Mylena and Isaac.

Release Week Blitz: The Return by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Return Release Week Blitz banner

We have been dying to bring you the Release Blitz for Jennifer L. Armentrout's THE RETURN! THE RETURN is a New Adult Paranormal Romance and is a part of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Titan Series. Seth is looking to be just as dangerously delicious as we all hoped!!
  The Return - Cover

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off... It's been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they've given him have been violent and bloody--which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He's got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet. Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her. But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all. Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

Excerpt:
Shaking my head, I pivoted around and walked down the long hall to my dorm room. As I reached the door, the shiver was at the base of my spine again, dancing its way up until it traveled across my shoulders. My heart turned over heavily and I closed my eyes. Twice in one day.
Oh God.
I’d never felt this more than once in any span of several days. Swallowing hard, I wrapped my fingers around the doorknob, battling the urge to turn and scan the hall, because I knew no one would be there. Dragging in a deep breath, I opened the door and stepped inside the room. My brows flew up, and I forgot about the feeling as I closed the door behind me. Erin was sprawled on the floor, palms pressed down on a mat, her spandex-covered behind jutting up toward the sky. She turned her head, peering at me from under her armpit. Her armpit. “How in the world do you get your neck to bend like that without killing yourself?” I asked. “Skills, yo.” Erin did yoga and meditation religiously, saying it helped merge her yin and yang together or something. She’d once told me she had a hell of a mean streak, and contorting herself into painful-looking positions helped keep “good vibrations” around her. Which was strange, because I’d never seen Erin lose her temper in the two years I’d known her. Erin unfolded herself from some kind of downward dog or upward pony and grinned at me. “Check under the bed.” Curious, I dropped my bag and stepped over her legs. Bending down, I lifted the bedspread and my eyes grew to the size of saucers when I spotted the bottle. I snatched it up and clutched it to my chest as I whipped toward her. “José!” Her grin spread into a smile. “The best boyfriend ever.”

Top Ten Tuesday: Book Related Problems I Have

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

THIS TOPIC IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!

1. Spending all the money- I have no restraint what so ever! If I see a book I want, I don't even think, I just buy it.

2. The danger of getting crushed by books- There are so many books in my room that I am really running out of space for them. There is always the danger now that my books will topple over and crush me.

3. Nobody understands my crazy- The book blogging community is great and you all understand my nonsense, but people in my everyday life just do not get why I get so attached to my books.

4. Sharing is NOT caring- I can't share my books. I have an anxiety that they will go missing forever or get ruined and therefore I just don't share my books with anyone unless I have multiple copies and even then it is rare.

5. Having things to do- There is nothing worse than not being able to read my book because I have to do other things: like work or sleep or study or go out and be a part of the world. What I wouldn't give to be like a Twilight vampire and never have to sleep.

6. Getting unreasonably sad when I don't get mail- Because I am constantly getting books, I get really really sad when I don't get anything in the mail. It has gotten to the point where I am constantly expecting something to show up.

7. So many books, so little time- I have so many books I am dying to read but there just never seems to be enough time to get through them all.

8. Problem solving- I now try to solve problems by thinking "how would this work out in a book?", unfortunately this usually doesn't help.

9. Accidentally buying books twice- This happens more than I care to admit. I forget I have a book, see it somewhere, buy it, only to get home and see that I already own it.

10. The books must match- There is nothing that makes me crazier when book covers get changed mid series, because that means they won't match and that is just not acceptable. I then have to buy the new redesigned covers and make my bookshelf happy.
