"Flirting with the Grave...
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.
In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner - are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat."
My Thoughts:Okay book world I have a bone (ahaha) to pick with you. Look. You’ve been telling me to read this book for years now and for years I have wanted to but just hadn’t made the time for it. Now my question is, why did you slap me silly and MAKE me read it?!?! Gah this book was everything I thought it would be and more. I loved it so much and I’m seriously addicted. Cat is awesome. Bones is made of swoon. I just loved it so much.
Cat is an awesome heroine. She is strong and determined and sassy and I adored her. I loved how she was always right in the action and such a badass character. She was also really funny and I loved her banter with Bones.
Speaking of Bones… man oh man I am in love. I felt my insides melting into goo so many times as I read this one. He is so swoony and charming and I just fell hard. And I love that he lets Cat be Cat. He may be protective and not want her to put herself in danger, but he lets her make her own choices and I loved that. I seriously loved those two together. Their chemistry is off the charts and they are an amazing couple.
Reading this book reminded me how much I love this genre and I really need to start making time to read more books like this. Paranormal books are my first love and this book reminded me why I fell in love with the genre. It’s just so much fun. I also absolutely love vampires. I know people are kinda over them, but I never will be. They are my favorite and will be forever.
I listened to the audio of Halfway To The Grave and Tavia Gilbert did a great job with this one. She is really awesome at doing different voices and accents. I like her narration a lot and she is becoming a favorite of mine.
Halfway To The Grave was a great read and I devoured this book. Bones skyrocketed to the top of my book boyfriends list. After the destruction of Eric Northman’s character (Sookie Stackhouse) and saying goodbye to Shane McAllister (WVMP Radio) I needed a new sexy vamp to love and well…. Bones blew those two out of the water. I can tell this series is going to be a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
