Source: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
"If we didn’t know darkness, we couldn’t fully appreciate the light.

Garth Black’s more familiar with this concept than most people are. He hadn’t just lived in the dark for the majority of his life—he thrived in it. With a mom who’d bailed on him and a dad whose understanding of coddling started and ended with a bottle of whiskey, Garth had never been expected to rise to any sort of occasion other than following down the same dead-end paths.

That changed when he fell in love with Josie Gibson. After years of pulling each other closer before shoving the other way, they finally stopped shoving. Josie’s love is like nothing Garth’s ever experienced. He holds it close. He holds it sacred. He would do anything to preserve it and keep it from pollution, even if that means removing himself from the picture.

Garth might have been allowed a temporary furlough to bask in the light, but that pass has been revoked, and he’s been swallowed again by the dark. Will he revert to his old ways of hurting those he cares for most? Will he go back to the same destructive patterns . . . or will it be worse this time?
We can’t know light without first knowing dark . . . and Garth Black’s about to get acquainted with the dark in a whole new way."

My Thoughts:

I don’t know if anyone can fully understand how incredibly excited I was when I heard that we were getting more to this series. This series is one of my all-time favorites and will forever hold a special place in my heart. These characters are never far from my mind and they are the kind of characters that end up on my top tens and favorites lists over and over again. Losers Weepers was another wonderful addition to this series. Josie and Garth had more to their story and I was so glad to be able to experience that.

Garth Black. That poor tortured man. Just when he starts to get everything he wanted in life, everything comes crashing down around him. In typical Garth fashion, he does not deal with this well. He starts to draw back into himself and pulls away from everyone he loves. He absolutely broke my heart. He may not think so, but I think he deserves the best and deserves to be happy. This book pushed him to his limits and tests both himself and his relationship with Josie.

Speaking of Josie, I absolutely love her! That girl is so tough and so strong and does not back down! No matter what Garth dishes out in this one, she stays by his side and does not budge. And believe me, Garth tries his very best, but she knows him well and can see behind the facade. I was so proud of her.

Rowen and Jesse also play a pretty big role in Losers Weepers and I loved seeing them again. Rowen and Jesse hold a special place in my heart. They pretty much have built a house there, so I always love seeing them. But seriously. I’m going to take them away from Nicole until she learns to be nice to them! I am ECSTATIC that they are getting another book but my heart…. I don’t know if I can handle what is coming. It may not survive it. But in reality I am going to count down the days until I get that book and then dive right into the heartache.

Losers Weepers was a beautiful story that delivered a great romance and then so much more. Josie and Garth was the heart of the story but it was also about learning to deal with life’s curveballs and picking yourself back up when tragedy strikes. It was a heartbreaking story and I cried through a good portion of the book. This one hits you right in the feels. It grabs your heart and twists it, but then somehow in the end you are smiling and crying at the same time. It’s just beautiful.

Losers Weepers was a wonderful addition to this series. I am so glad we got some more closure for Josie and Garth. Their story was beautiful and passionate and one I could revisit again and again.

About The Author:

I’m the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the CRASH series (HarperTeen, S&S UK), LOST & FOUND series, UP IN FLAMES (S&S UK), The EDEN TRILOGY, and a handful of others. I write stories about everyday kinds of people who find themselves in extraordinary kinds of situations. I tell love stories with happy endings because I believe in making the world a better place, and that’s one tiny way I can make it so. I’m one of those people who still believe in true love and soul mates, and would rather keep my head in the clouds any day over having my feet firmly on the ground.

  1. Did this book make you cry? Because it totally did me! It was so hard to read about this happening to Garth in particular because he's such a bull headed man. Josie absolutely made this book for me. I love how stubborn she is and how in love with him she is. It really made my heart melt!
