Top Ten Tuesday: Book Related Problems I Have

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

THIS TOPIC IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!

1. Spending all the money- I have no restraint what so ever! If I see a book I want, I don't even think, I just buy it.

2. The danger of getting crushed by books- There are so many books in my room that I am really running out of space for them. There is always the danger now that my books will topple over and crush me.

3. Nobody understands my crazy- The book blogging community is great and you all understand my nonsense, but people in my everyday life just do not get why I get so attached to my books.

4. Sharing is NOT caring- I can't share my books. I have an anxiety that they will go missing forever or get ruined and therefore I just don't share my books with anyone unless I have multiple copies and even then it is rare.

5. Having things to do- There is nothing worse than not being able to read my book because I have to do other things: like work or sleep or study or go out and be a part of the world. What I wouldn't give to be like a Twilight vampire and never have to sleep.

6. Getting unreasonably sad when I don't get mail- Because I am constantly getting books, I get really really sad when I don't get anything in the mail. It has gotten to the point where I am constantly expecting something to show up.

7. So many books, so little time- I have so many books I am dying to read but there just never seems to be enough time to get through them all.

8. Problem solving- I now try to solve problems by thinking "how would this work out in a book?", unfortunately this usually doesn't help.

9. Accidentally buying books twice- This happens more than I care to admit. I forget I have a book, see it somewhere, buy it, only to get home and see that I already own it.

10. The books must match- There is nothing that makes me crazier when book covers get changed mid series, because that means they won't match and that is just not acceptable. I then have to buy the new redesigned covers and make my bookshelf happy.

  1. I love that nobody understands your crazy in real life. No one gets mine in real life either. Everyone keeps trying to talk me into watching tv. Why oh why would I pick that over a book?

  2. Obviously I love and understand this list well. I don't have a big problem with spending money on books though, mainly because I know I don't have it. LOL.I have anxiety over lending out books too. There are few that I really trust to do so with! I get sad too when I don't get mail, especially when I see other people getting it! Which is usually ridiculous because I'm not a big requester of books. And of course, the dreaded T word. There is never enough time for all we want to read!

  3. I have the match issue with the book I am actually reading and the Goodreads edition. That just have to match. It makes to a bit OCD when they don't. I understand your crazy!!

  4. I'm strongly responding to # 3&7! But the cons far outweigh the benefits of reading. So happy I'm a reader!!

  7. I can't restrain myself from buying books, either! If I could I would buy the entire bookstore, but unfortunately I don't have the budget for that. I think it's a widespread bookish problem. Lending books is difficult for me too, primarily because I'm worried about the damage that will befall my book in someone else's hand. And don't worry, we understand your crazy! The book blogging community will always be there for your bookish needs:)

  8. Great list! I used to let people read my books, but recently I've decided not to anymore because I usually don't even get them back. :( I also love my books to match. I hate cover changes. Thanks for sharing! :)

  9. Sadly, I've lost a couple books by lending it out to people. Sigh. But yes, 6&7 are totally me and I hate it when covers change after I already bought the first book. RAGE!

  13. OHMYGOSH. Yes to all of these! I also get anxiety when sharing my books! And after a few friends didn't return books I loaned them and one who returned it with a bent cover....NO MORE! Only to those I trust will understand you care for a book like it's a new born baby!

I agree with all of these :D

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
