Blog Tour: 25 Days of Book Boyfriends: Preston Riggs

Welcome to my stop on the 25 Days of Book Boyfriends blog tour hosted by myself, Jessica of Lovin Los Libros, and Chelsea of Starbucks & Books Obsession. I am super excited to introduce you to my boyfriend of choice.... Preston Riggs from Pieces of Olivia by Melissa West. You can check out the full tour schedule here.

If you read my review of Pieces of Olivia you will know that I laid claim to Preston long ago because Preston is mine!
But I am willing to share him with you all today for my stop on the 25 Days of Book Boyfriends blog tour (but just for today so don't get any ideas). Preston is everything you want in a book boyfriend and I am so excited to feature him today. And to top it all off I had the pleasure of interviewing him so everyone say hi to Preston!

Hi Preston! Thank you so much for visiting the blog today. It is truly great to have you here! *scoots closer*
So how does it feel being one of the guys featured on the 25 Days of Book Boyfriends Tour?
Ah, I’m flattered. Not surprised, cause I like to think I’m a cool dude. But flattered, for sure.

Okay so I’m going to start off with the (relatively) easy questions. We can work up to the more difficult ones. If you had to pick two words to describe yourself what would they be and why?
Easy-going and loyal. I don’t let many in, but those I do are there for a lifetime.

Now, what two words would you use to describe Olivia?
Honest, caring, pure, perfect. I could go on forever.

What is the thing you are most passionate about?
I’m an angler through and through. I find myself when I’m on the water.

You have three wishes. What are they?
1. To become an amazing pediatrician.
2. To catch a trophy largemouth bass. Hey, a guy can dream.
3. And most of all…when I ask Olivia to marry me, my wish above wishes, is that she’ll say yes. That she’ll float with me down this river called life.

If you were stuck on a deserted island, what are the three things you want to have with you?
A heavy knife, some iodine, and Olivia.

If you could have dinner with one famous person (alive or deceased) who do you want it to be?
Martin Luther King Jr. Nobody preached humanity like MLK.

Okay I’m moving on to the more difficult questions now.
Semi Spoilery question ahead…. So fair warning.

So Preston… you and your best friend Kara have a bit of a rocky past. I won’t say exactly why, because I don’t want to completely spoil the story for those who have not read it yet (but people… you seriously need to fix that). But anyone who read the book will know what I am referring to. How were you able to stay such good friends with Kara after that?
See, Kara and I were friends first, and not just common, everyday friends. I’ve known her my whole life, seen her through sickness and she me. Our families are friends. I didn’t forgive her immediately. I refused to see or speak to her for a long time. And I’ll never forget, but I refuse to be the kind of person who can’t forgive.

And then what was it about Olivia that made you want to take a chance on someone again?
Olivia was the first girl I ever met that was okay being herself in every situation. She didn’t alter herself to fit in with whatever crowd was around her. She’s Olivia, take her or leave her. And I was ready to take her the first time we met in her dorm room.

Knowing what you do now, is there anything you would go back and change if you could?
I would have told Olivia about Kara and I from the beginning. That was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made, and something that went against who I am. I was afraid, and that fear led me. Never again.

The romantic in me needs to know… how are you and Olivia doing?
We’re fantastic. She keeps her place, and me mine, but we’ve been talking about moving in together. Taking that next step. This girl is forever for me, so I’m willing to be patient.

This or That:
Vanilla or chocolate? Chocolate
Rock or Pop? Rock
Day or Night? Day for fishing, Night for…other things *flashes grin*
Gummi Worms or Gummi Bears? Eh, neither. The only gummi worms around me are attached to a hook.
Binge Watching Netflix or Binge Reading A Series? I’m an angler. The only thing I’ll “binge” is fishing, but I’m more likely to read than watch TV, unless we’re talking about sports.

Now wasn’t that fun? Thank you so much for visiting today. I truly enjoyed having you here and I am sure everyone else did too. Can I have a hug before you go?
Glad to stop by. And sure thing *hugs*

See guys... isn't Preston awesome?!?! If you need me I'll be in a puddle on the floor.

My Favorite Preston Moments:
"I leaned against the outside wall of the theater and closed my eyes, when I heard the door burst open. I opened my eyes, prepared to get out of the way of whoever was leaving, and instead watched as Preston made his way over to me. “I can’t do this, Olivia. I can’t.” I shook my head. “I don’t know what you’re—” He waved toward me. “You. Us. This. I don’t do this.” Anger surged through me, and I opened my mouth to yell that I didn’t do this either, when he took two strides toward me and whispered, “But I can’t breathe when you’re around. I can’t think. I can’t control my mind and forget my body. I am useless and weak and I hate this version of myself. Yet . . .” He placed a hand on my face and gently trailed his thumb across my cheek, his gaze drifting to my lips. “I have never wanted anyone the way I want you.”"

"“I don’t want to share you.” “You haven’t had to share me since we met. I tried to deny it, tried to find another way. You were so closed off, and I didn’t think you were interested, but then I found you sitting on my bed that day, looking like you belonged right there, in my world, and the rest no longer mattered.”"

"But I’m here, right now, and I am out of mind in love with you. I love you so much that it feels like my chest might explode, and the thought of you leaving makes me want to get on the ground and beg you to stay."

About Pieces of Olivia:
"Olivia Warren used to be a normal girl with a bright future.
But on one fated night, everything changed.
Hiding the scars of her past up her sleeves, Olivia transfers her enrollment from Columbia University to The College of Charleston, determined to pursue her own dreams for the first time in her life.
She intends to allow herself a bit of alone time to heal... that is, until she meets Preston.
Preston is best friends with her roommate, completely hot, and off-limits. But the chemistry between them is instantaneous—and as the pair begins to spend more time with one another, their feelings for each other build into something undeniable, something powerful enough to heal Olivia’s deepest scars.
Olivia tries to put her own past behind her and trust Preston, but she discovers that his past might be more present than she ever bargained for…"
