Prompt Tour: Lux Series by: Jennifer L. Armentrout

I am SUPER excited to be taking part in this Prompt Tour for the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout to celebrate the upcoming release of Opposition, the final book in the series.

Lux: Beginnings is available everywhere books are sold, including your local Target, B&N, and Walmart. Opposition will be available everywhere August 5, 2014! And included in this print edition of Opposition will be the prequel novella Shadows which has never been in print before! And if you want to read them on your ereader, all books are available individually in eformat.
#1: Obsidian
#2: Onyx
#3: Opal
#4: Origin
#5: Opposition
Prequel novella: Shadows

Lux: Beginnings:

There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he
opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stabworthy. But when a stranger attacks me and
Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bullseye.
Turns out he has a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal his abilities and the only way I’m getting
out of this alive is by sticking close to him until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien
connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But
we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon,
even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to
his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

Lux: Consequences:

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean
in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing alien hybrids, the more I realize there is no end
to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely
source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the
outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount
Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the
lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even
be together?

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can’t believe Daemon stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. To him, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated.
Dawson can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or stop a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

  1. I think I love Daemon as a part of the Lux series rather than the alien aspect. 2nd thing I love would be Katy and Daemon’s hilarious banter, and their sweet relationship. Then, comes the awesome alien aspect, like origins like Archer and Luc, and Arums like Hunter. The Lux series is an incredible story world where Daemon not only turned out to be the perfect, ever-confident alien but an amazing boyfriend. Guys like him are hard to find, even in a book, and I am seriously impressed by how much Daemon captures my attention. His first impression…not so good. But as the story progressed, I loved seeing Katy understand and fall for Daemon Black, the guy who pushed feelings away until he met his kitten. And just as a side note, he brings Katy cookies! Do I need to say any more about why he makes the perfect beau? And well, I like the whole of the Lux series because it has come together beautifully but I also love how Katy adapts every time her life changes drastically. She accepted Daemon’s true nature, being a hybrid, losing friends…all with time and grace (sort of). So I love love love the humorous act between Daemon and Katy, and that among everything else has kept me returning to the series

  2. I'm yet to read Origin and go back to this series. I liked both Katy and Daemon and I'm sure I'll enjoy them again. So amazing. :) Not entering the contest, btw ;)

  3. What I love about this series is how it builds up book by book and each book is even better than the last, even when the first one was bloody perfect. The relationships feel real and not forced, the characters are interesting and witty, which is a must for me when I read a book. The whole world is perfectly built, there's no flaw in it. JLA is truly an extraordinairy author.

  4. AH! So many things I love about this series. From the cocky characters who feel very much real, even if they aren't human, to the wonderful writing style of JLA. I just love the world she created :) I cannot wait for the last book! *squee*

Not entering the contest, just showing my JLA and Lux love

  5. I haven't kept up with the Lux series, but I did enjoy it a lot. I love your reasons for loving the series. Thanks for sharing, Teresa!

  6. Daemon! I loved books one and two and need to catch up badly.

  7. I have to agree with you the best aspect about the Lux series has to be the writing. I read the Covenant series before I read the Lux series and I immediately fell in love with JLA's writing. There is just something about her writing that made it almost impossible to not love her books. The way she wrote Katy and Daemon who are quite possibly the best characters I've ever read, was simply amazing and so well done I could read their story over and over again I'll never get tired of it.

  8. Yeah, I love this series because of all the normal reasons...Daemon Black...but also because of all the things that make it a JLA book. Humor, unpredictable, the ability to involve my emotions, taking things most don't touch and doing it anyway and incredible characters. I love it because it is a JLA book. Nuff said.

  9. I absolutely adore the mythology that JLA uses!!!

  10. Teresa, I think JLA's particular brand of snark and wit are her trademark. And since Obsidian was the first JLA book I read, I was hooked immediately, as well. The incredible banter between Katy and Daemon did such a great job of building the tension between them and I was glad it was an element in their relationship that continued. *sigh* Love your Prompt Tour post, girlie!! @BookwormBrandee

  11. I love Daemon and Katy's relationship in the Lux series. Another thing I love about the series is the humour in the midst of the seriousness that takes place in the plot. The Lux series is probably one of the first alien books which is probably one of the reasons why I adore this series. I'm very serious when it comes to character growth and I think the characters have come a long way since Obsidian. In Obsidian, I didn't particularly like Katy, Daemon, Ash, Andrew, Adam, etc. So basically, a lot of the characters. Now, I have grown fond of them. The characters now have depth and they have grown as the series continues. I am very excited for Opposition, a bit sad that's the Lux series is ending, but overall, I'm pretty excited for the series to wrap up.

  12. Love this!!! These covers have grown on me, and now I must have them ALL! My favorite thing(s) about this series: Katy and her blog, Daemon and his character growth, Katy flipping Daemon off, "kitten," zapped laptops, and my #1 favorite thing -- sharing the love of these books with YOU. Fabulous post, sweets! Thank you!

  13. I have to say I LOVE everything about the Lux Series. Its one of my top favorite books. I love of course the love that Daemon has for Kat and how they got there connection when he healed her. I love all the action in it that makes my heart race. I love that it has aliens and that they have powers. And also how the author drew out the love story between the main characters. Even though I wanted them together faster I think that's is what kept my interest in it even more. I love the whole story line. I am DYING to read Opposition and I cannot wait for it to come out!! And it's being released on my birthday!! YAY!!

  14. I love the Lux series period!! This series is amazing, I love the way Jennifer portrays the Luxen to be, beautifully human with some sweet powers!! Daemon's protectiveness of Kat is swoon worthy. I love that by healing her in the first book he kinda hurt Kat as well. The alien awesomeness in this book is well into the high levels :) I loved Dee and Kat's friendship, and how it was kinda broken after Onyx. This series has become one of my favorites and I'm sad to see it end.. But I'm so excited for Opposition!! :)

  15. You know what I love about the Lux Series? Everything! *Read that sentence like your Peter Parker from The Amazing Spider Man 2 trailer for added effect*

So I honestly love everything about the series. From the book cover, seeing it was the first thing I saw too the actual contents of the novel... I love the world that the characters live in, since I've been daydreaming about having super powers as a kid. I love that though Daemon and Kat's Relationship is physical, they actually have a really strong connection, beside the dodgy Alien One, and they genuinely care for each other.

I love the wit that Jennifer pours into the books through her characters. I love the characters, that even though they live in a world nothing like ours, we can still connect to them. Like as a reader, you probably really connected to Kat with her reading, but connected more since Kat had a blog.

I love that though the book is funny, its not happy go lucky and that its well rounded and keeps us on our toes.

But mostly I love how the Lux Series bought together a fans from all around the world that can celebrate their love for the book and what's not... what's not being Daemon through their blogs...

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
