"I, Daphne Fox, have a few things to confess:

1. I hate Nick Brady. Loathe. Abhor. Can’t stand him 95% of the time.
2. That other 5%? I’m not talking about that at all.
3. People think I’m lucky for surviving the car crash. I disagree.
4. Nick is the only guy who makes my nightmares go away.
5. I won’t love him, though. Love is not worth the pain.

I, Nick Brady, have a few confessions of my own:

1. I don’t hate Daphne Fox. At all.
2. I find her scar sexy. Just like the rest of her.
3. I may be her older brother’s best friend, but that’s not going to stop me.
4. I love her.
5. And I’m going to do everything I can to have her."

My Thoughts:

This was a very sweet new adult read and was a strong follow up to the first book. I didn’t love it like I hoped I would, but I did enjoy it a lot and I really liked Nick and Daphne’s story. Those two are great.

Daphne has not had an easy few years. She has become closed off and is very hesitant to take any sort of risks. I wished she would open her eyes a bit, but I can’t fault her for feeling the way she felt. Besides this though, Daphne was a ton of fun. She is smart and witty and I loved her smart mouth.

Then there is Nick who is full of swoon. That boy is determined. He has decided he is finally going to go after Daphne and he is relentless in that pursuit. He clearly adores her and is willing to go above and beyond to prove that they could be great together. These two have wonderful banter and I loved how they go back and forth. Their conversations were so much fun.

I think my absolute favorite thing about the book though was the relationship between Daphne and Hailey. I loved how strong their friendship was. Boyfriends didn’t get in the way and they were always there for one another. I think that was such an important aspect. I love when a book shows that you can have great friends who aren’t just looking to tear you down.

While I really enjoyed Go With Me overall, I did have some hang ups. While I loved the banter, some of the dialogue felt a bit choppy and forced to me and I just could not picture some of the dialogue ever being said by anyone. It just didn’t fit. Also I felt like the writing could be a bit “we did this then we went here and then this happened.” There were a good amount of moments that told and I wanted to be shown. Also Go With Me was a bit similar to another book I read recently and I just adored that other book, so there was some bad timing on my part.

All in all, Go With Me is an enjoyable read and I really liked watching Daphne and Nick grow together. It’s a very fun and sweet new adult read.

  2. I haven't heard of this series but it seems really interesting. I must say that the first one sounds a little bit better. Still I'm glad you liked this one. Great review, Teresa :)

  5. Love the cover art first and foremost, it's so tender. At least you liked it even if it had some "spots"... so which book did this remind you of?

  7. I love a good book with a solid friendship and a swoony guy. Sucks this wasn't as good as the first book, but they rarely are, right?! Great review!

  8. This book has a fabulous summary! I really like the sound of it, and I love how you talk about the friendship between Daphne and Hailey! Boys should never, ever come before friendship. It should be law. I want to read this one, but you know I can't handle choppy or unrealistic dialogue between characters. I may give this one a try, though, because you still enjoyed it. Thank you for the lovely and insightful review. <3
