Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

This was a tough one for me... I had a hard time thinking of books I almost gave up on because usually I am either all in with a book or not.

1. Embrace by: Jessica Shirvington- Violet just drove me crazy in this book! I was so mad at the way she treated Linc! In the end, I'm glad I kept reading because I ended up enjoying it and I did like the sequel.

2. The Immortal Rules by: Julie Kagawa- This one was just a lot of set up and was tough at times. I am very glad I stuck with it though because the series got better and better and I really liked books two and three.

3. Everbound by: Brodi Ashton- I actually had to step away from this one for a bit, it just wasn't moving as fast as I would have liked. I did enjoy it when I went back to it though.

4. Wake by: Amanda Hocking- This one just didn't grab me as much as I would have liked, but I did end up completing it because I was curious.

5. The Time Traveler's Wife by: Audrey Niffenegger- I actually really enjoyed the start of this one but then it just kept going on and on. It got to the point where I was exasperated but I was almost done so I stuck it out. I enjoyed it, but there was some struggle for a bit.

6. Awakened by: PC Cast and Kristin Cast- I loved this series when it first started but then it just seemed like it was never ending. The characters just started making me crazy and I almost stopped reading this one. I made it through this book, but I haven't continued the series yet and I'm still not sure I will.

7. The Night Circus by: Erin Morgenstern- This was another one I enjoyed but it dragged at one point. Glad I pushed through because the ending was interesting.

8. Deadlocked by: Charlaine Harris- This series makes my heart hurt. I loved it when it started and then this book just was ugh. I finished but I have yet to work up to reading the final book.

9. Drowning In You by: Rebecca Berto- This one simply didn't grab me and I probably wouldn't have finished if I wasn't on the blog tour. It was just meh for me in the end.

10. Born of Illusion by: Teri Brown- This one just made me crazy because I was able to peg a lot of the story, I ended up finishing the book to see if  I was right, but I don't think I will be continuing this series.

  1. I know what you mean about Embrace. Violet does have her moments. The final book in this series however, is definitely worth the read.
I haven't read any of the others you've mentioned yet although a few of them are my TBR list. I need more hours in the day.

    Marilyn @ Marilyn's Mystery Blog

  2. I haven't read most of those. This is a hard one. The only one I can think of is Definitely Maybe in Love. I just didn't like Spring.

  3. Born of Illusion was so slow for me, I DNF it. The only one I've read from your list is The Immortal Rules and it was awesome!

  4. I gave up on House of Night part of the way through Hidden. I just didn't enjoy any of the characters or plot anymore.

    My Top Ten

    1. Yes! Exactly! I just didn't care about anything anymore and I had reached my stupid drama limit lol I cannot believe that series is still going.

  5. Oh my goodness -- I did the same thing with the House of Night series! I really liked the first few and always thought I'd get back to it, but the last one I read was not good. You know how happy I am that you gave the Blood of Eden series another chance -- just think of all the Jackal feels we would have missed out on! lol Great list, Wifey <3

    1. Of course we both did the same thing with HoN---- we really are the same person lol

  6. Just read that Teri Brown book, loved it, sorry you it didn't work out for you. Diffrent strokes :D

  7. the Immortal Rules really does pay up in the end :D My TTT

  8. I gave up on the House of Night series and Wake. Just could not finish either of them.

    My Teaser

  9. Good list! I actually put down the HoN series at that point too. It was so, so repetitive! I also had a tough time with Drowning in You; that chick was melodramatic! I did put down The Immortal Rules, and still haven't read the last two Sookie books. We have a lot in common here!

  10. I haven't read any of these books! Well, I have read Embrace and I agree with your feels on it! :D Lovely list... though I've only read one book.... yup! *turns on heel and walks away*

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
