Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.
This is a great topic! I love when a book has a wonderful friendship! In other news, this list made me realize that most of the books I read are more focused on the kissy kissy than the friendship aspect haha.
1. Vampire Academy by: Richelle Mead- This was the first book that came to mind for this topic! There are a lot of different storylines and what not with these books, but at the base of it the most important thing is the friendship between Lissa and Rose.
2. The Infernal Devices by: Cassandra Clare- Now I know what you are probably thinking 'Teresa, this is a love triangle.' Yes, yes it is. HOWEVER, I firmly believe the most important relationship in this book is Will and Jem's friendship and I will not be convinced otherwise.
3. The Art of Lainey by: Paula Stokes- I read this one recently and absolutely loved the relationship between the two BFF's. It was such a great and drama free friendship.
4. Anna Dressed In Blood by: Kendare Blake- On the surface this is a ghost falls in love with a boy book. However, really this is about Cas finally finding a home and finally opening up and making a life for himself. One of the biggest aspects of that is the friends he makes.
5. A Time For Dancing by: Davida Wills Hurwin- This book hurt my soul but the frienship in it is beautiful. It has been a very long time since I have read it, but I remember the frienship between the main characters being strong.
6. The Iron Knight by: Julia Kagawa- Ash and Puck.... ASH AND PUCK! Those two together are the best! And they are best buddies even if they never admit it.
7. Harry Potter by: JK Rowling- Do I really need to explain this? I mean... no I don't need to explain.
8. With All My Soul by: Rachel Vincent- This series really delves into all sorts of relationships, but friendship is a big one. In this one, Kaylee shows just how important her friends are to her and how far she is willing to go for them.
9. Frigid by: J. Lynn- Yes this is a romance BUT these two start off as best friends.. the kind of best friends nobody can really get in between. As great as Kyler and Sydney are as a couple, they are also wonderful best friends.
10. Finders Keepers by: Nicole Williams- Again I know this is a romance, but I really think friendship is also a big aspect. Not just between Jesse and Garth but between Garth and Josie. Josie has always been Garth's friend and one of the few people to see him for who he is and I loved that.
What made your list?
Oohhh, great choices, Teresa. I'm especially fond of Vincent, Mead, Rowling, and Clare. :) Stories with great friendships really speak to us all. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteSome great choices there. I particularly like the friendships / interactions which exist between Will and Jem, and Ash and Puck.
