"What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who's too wild for even her?

A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She's always chosen her hookups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules:

Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.

Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he's immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn't even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.

But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she's throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she's the one panting for a guy she can't control—a guy who won't settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she's never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried.

A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . . ."

My Thoughts:

Sophie Jordan delivered again with Tease! Shaw and Emerson are so good together and this is new adult done right. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as Foreplay, but I adored Foreplay, so that was a hard one to live up to for me.

Emerson was a struggle for me. She was just tough for me to like at times. Well, that’s not the right word, because I liked her, but she frustrated me. I wanted to shake her so hard for about 70% of the book. I can’t even pin point what it was exactly about her, but there was something. She just lied to herself too much I think. I understood the hesitations and why she acted the way she did, but I think she just pushed my tolerance for it a tad. Also, she never ever wanted to listen to her friends, even when they were just trying to be helpful. Normally I get frustrated with pushy friends, but that wasn’t the case here because they were right. I also didn’t like that she kinda begrudged her friends their happiness in their relationships just because she didn’t want one. But in the end, I liked her growth and I did like her.

While I struggled with Emerson, I ADORED Shaw. Oh my gosh Shaw was incredible. I fell hard for him and I fell fast. He saw Emerson and he knew right then and there that he wanted her. He also saw behind the extremely high walls she put up and saw the real her. I loved how he saw her and saw someone worth loving. It was so beautiful. This is probably why I struggled with Emerson. She had this wonderful guy standing in front of her willing to give her the world and she turned a blind eye.

The chemistry in Tease was off the charts. Sophie Jordan knows how to write a steamy book and do it well. It is never tacky or forced; it always feels right and real. Emerson and Shaw together made for some very very steamy moments. I also loved their sweeter moments as well. It was both heartwarming and sexy. Exactly what I want in a new adult read.

Reece and Pepper made an appearance and just a reminder, I still love Reece. I’m also ready for the next book now that I know who the characters will be!!! She has left me ready for more.

Tease is a good read and while it may not have lived up to Foreplay for me, it is still definitely worth your time. Shaw alone makes this book worth reading.

  3. Hehe...I love that you wanted to smack a fictional character and get her to see clearly! I do that all the time. I'm reading this soon. I'm glad you did enjoy it despite the girl needing to be smacked.

  4. I think I might read Foreplay next to get ready for this. I'm worried because I easily get annoyed by the girl MC's most of the time. It's nice to know ahead of time that she will most likely frustrate me.

  10. Fantastic review. I am super excited to find out Reece and Pepper made an appearance. While it kind of sucks you didn't take to Emerson as much as one could wish I am glad you enjoyed her in the end and that she grew as a character. So excited to be introduced to Shaw! Thank you for another phenomenal review!
