Book Review: Enjoy Your Stay (Sugartown #2) by: Carmen Jenner

Release Date: March 2, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon
Source: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
"The last thing Holly Harris expected was to wind up nineteen, knocked-up, and all alone. When Coop left to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock god, he left a tiny piece of him behind.

Holly wishes he hadn’t.

Jackson wishes he hadn’t.

Jackson Rowe tried filling the void his family left by drinking, screwing around, and leaving a string of heartbroken women in his wake. Moving back to Sugartown should have been easy, but he hadn’t counted on the fact his sometimes attraction to Holly would still be alive and kicking—and he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her being pregnant with another man’s baby.

They drive one another crazy, and yet they can’t stay away.

When old flames resurface, and even older wounds are torn open, can two people so similar make it work? Or will their stubbornness only drive them further apart?

*Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains angst, a crap-tonne of profanity, short-tempered Australian wildlife, and some very pregnant sex."

My Thoughts:

This read was a lot of fun and drama filled and I loved every second of it. I actually liked this on even more than I liked Welcome To Sugartown. That probably has to do with the characters. I think I enjoyed Holly and Jackson more than I did Elijah and Ana; even though I love them too. I think it was the banter that did me in. I loved the banter between Holly and Jackson.

One of the biggest things that I enjoyed more about Enjoy Your Stay was Jackson himself. While he had his moments, and he was prone to some truly jackass moments, I liked him better as a love interest than I did Elijah. There were some things with Elijah that I had a hard time forgiving and I never moved past them, I loved him but I never fully forgave him. With Jackson, I didn’t have that problem. Not because he was perfect – because he is FAR from that – but because whatever he did, Holly was doing the exact same thing. Which is kinda what makes them perfect for each other. Those two constantly butt heads and get under each other’s skin, but that is why they work. Holly is a spitfire and there are not many people who truly understand her or see what a good person she really is and Jackson is one of them. Holly comes a long way in this book. She is still the crass, stubborn, impetuous girl we met in Welcome To Sugartown but she is also growing up and recognizing that she is no longer the center of the world, her baby is, and her decisions are made with that baby in mind. She is still incredibly stubborn and blind to certain things, but I also couldn’t fault her for any of the decisions she made because they came from a good place.

Enjoy Your Stay is a quick read filled with angst and drama and it is the kind of book you can eat up! Holly and Jackson make a great pair and make for some very steamy scenes. I rooted for them from page one and I yelled at them numerous times to get their heads on straight and use their words. I was invested, plain and simple, and there is nothing more I want from a book. All in all, a great read.
