Top Ten Tuesday: Reasons I Love Being A Blogger/Reader

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish.

1. The Community- I absolutely love being a part of the blogging community. It is the only place where there are others who really understand me. The community is so great and welcoming and the only place where bookish quirks are the norm and not something you get crazy looks for.

2. My Bookish Friends- This is a tad bit repetitive of #1, but not really. I have made some of the best and greatest friends since I became a blogger. Cassandra Clare said it best: “People who know and love the same books you do have the road map of your soul. I believe that.” and she could not have been more right. I have made some of the best friendships because of the shared love of a book.

3. So Many Books- One of the best things about blogging is that I discover so many amazing books I would have never known otherwise. It is like it opened the door to a bunch of hidden gems.

4. Keeps Me Sane- My job can be pretty stressful and I blog/read for fun. Basically it is what keeps me from going crazy and even though I always have a million books to read, it gives me something to do that does not involve crunching numbers.

5. Feelings- Usually after I read a book I am full of all sorts of feelings and I immediately need to tell someone about them, unfortunately nobody really wants to listen to my ramblings haha. So writing my reviews are a great way to get all those feelings out. I always write my reviews immediately after finishing a book and I always feel better once I do.

6. A Thousand Lives- It sounds cliche, but as a reader you really do get to live a thousand lives. I have had so many adventures and gone so many places, just by picking up a book.

7. Always Something To Do- There is never a time where I don't have something to do, because there is always a book to read. Any reader will probably tell you, that any free time is usually spent with a book.

8. Sharing- Part of being a blogger means recommending books to others and there is nothing I enjoy more than sharing my love of a book with someone else. Whenever someone tells me they picked up a book based on my review/recommendation, I always feel warm and fuzzy inside.

9. Book Boyfriends- Part of being a reader is having book boyfriends and you can have as many book boyfriends as you want! There is no limit, and book boyfriends are much much better than the real ones.

10. Buddy Reading- I had no idea what this was before I started blogging, but it is so much fun! I love discussing books and it is even more fun discussing when you get to read it with someone else.

What made your list?
