"In this electrifying sixty-page companion novella to the New York Timesbestselling Shatter Me series, discover the fate of the Omega Point rebels as they go up against The Reestablishment. Set during and soon after the final moments of Unravel Me, Fracture Me is told from Adam's perspective.

As Omega Point prepares to launch an all-out assault on The Reestablishment soldiers stationed in Sector 45, Adam's focus couldn't be further from the upcoming battle. He's reeling from his breakup with Juliette, scared for his best friend's life, and as concerned as ever for his brother James's safety. And just as Adam begins to wonder if this life is really for him, the alarms sound. It's time for war.

On the battlefield, it seems like the odds are in their favor—but taking down Warner, Adam's newly discovered half brother, won't be that easy. The Reestablishment can't tolerate a rebellion, and they'll do anything to crush the resistance . . . including killing everyone Adam has ever cared about.

Fracture Me sets the stage for Ignite Me, the explosive finale in Tahereh Mafi's epic dystopian series. It's a novella not to be missed by fans who crave action-packed stories with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu."

My Thoughts:

Everyone knows I am a Warner girl through and through, but that does not mean I hate Adam, I actually liked Adam a lot. So I was really excited for a novella from his point of view. I was curious to see what he thought of everything and how he saw Juliette. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Nothing makes sense anymore.

Honestly, after reading this I doubt how much Adam loves Juliette. I never realized how weak he thinks she is. He has no faith in her what so ever and I feel like you shouldn’t look at someone you love that way. This novella changes everything you thought you knew about Adam. I don’t want to say too much because of spoilers, but I was surprised and very disappointed in his character. Also the writing in this novella is not nearly as good as the other two books and Destroy Me. I’m not sure what is was, but it wasn’t as lyrical. Possibly Adam doesn’t think lyrically as do Juliette and Warner, but I missed the beautiful writing I had come to know from Tahereh Mafi.

All in all, this novella left something to be desired. I am still stupidly excited for Ignite Me and I really want to see how these events come into play in the next book. I hope they do, otherwise I don’t see much point in this novella.

  1. I think I'll blame this one on the author. I do see that Warner is getting more and more fangirls each day and I'm one of them too, but truly this ruining of Adam wasn't necessary. This Adam is nothing like Adam from the previous books and that bothers me. Great review, Teresa :)

    1. I completely agree! I adore Warner but I didn't like that she basically ruined Adam =[

  2. I felt the same way about this novella as you, Teresa. I totally didn't expect this of Adam, and I missed Tahereh's signature writing style as well. The one thing I did like is that it totally seems like Tahereh wants everyone on Team Warner :D

  3. Sorry this fell short a bit but since it's a novella told from someone else's POV maybe that's why it's "different" and designed to rock the boat so to speak? I hope when the next book comes out it'll make sense somehow.

    Happy weekend!

  4. Great review! I haven't read this series yet but it is on my list for YA series this year. I know fans are divided between Adam and Warner so I'm curious as to who I'll love. :-)

  5. So I'm not a Warner fan and I'm behind on this series.

  6. I've heard alot of people saying this was a disappointment. That is a bummer because in Shatter Me anyway, you could see how much he cares about her! I haven't read Unravel Me yet though. I like this series, but I don't love it, so I think that's why I've been putting the second book off. Sorry this didn't quite work for you, but I'm glad you're still excited to see how it all ends!

  7. Oh, wow. So sad this one was such a disappointment. I'm a Warner fan, too. But I have always liked Adam's character as well, to read what he really thinks. Kind of a let down that this one really changes the view point of Adam. But, despite that, I am still looking forward to the last book!! Great review, though this novella wasn't all that good!

  8. Aww, I'm sorry this was a letdown, Teresa. That stinks. I hope Mafi redeems herself with Ignite Me. :)

  9. Oh, how we despised this tragic little novella. It ruined our day! This is an excellent review, and you know I agree with every. single. word. *shakes fist in air*

    1. It really did ruin our day! That day will forever be know as Fracture Me Day and that is not a good thing!

  10. Yes, exactly. I think that a lot of why I didn't enjoy this as much as the other books/novella was because Adams POV wasn't meant to be lyrical like Warners and Juliette's.

But the thing about Adam maybe not loving Juliette as much as she thinks he does... is so true. I think it shows how biased Juliette's POV is. I don't know. Definitely excited to see how it plays out in the next book.

    Great review.
