"Mature and explicit content. Not recommended for readers below 18-years-old. Yup, you’ve got to be that old to read my story. Consider yourself warned.

I’m Dakota Collins, a tough talking, eye patch wearing, workaholic photography student. Why am I important? Well, maybe because I get to spend an entire month with Vicious, only the sickest indie rock band out there.

You see, I needed a subject for my Spring Showcase introspective in order to graduate. During a chance encounter at a club I’d been sent to cover for the Daily Gossip, our ironically named college paper, the features writer I usually teamed up with introduced me to the band—by accident, I might add. It involved a run in with a scary, bald bodyguard. Anyway, long story short, I signed a contract to take pictures of Vicious.

I should have known their handsome yet way too serious for his own good bassist, Luka Visraya, wouldn’t be able to keep his hands to himself. He’s gorgeous and all, but the way he smiles spelled trouble with a capital L. I’m in for a long month with him around.

Crazy shit happens and then some. So, if you want the skinny on Vicious and the events revolving around my stay at Lunar Manor, read my story.

Again, refer to the warning above."

My Thoughts:

So I honestly had no idea what I was getting into when I picked up this book. From what I now understand it is a spin off from her Young Adult book Taste. I haven’t read Taste so I really had no clue what to expect from Savor, but good thing is you don’t need to read Taste to understand the events in Savor. However, I definitely want to go back and read Taste now because Savor was such a good read. I was hooked from beginning to end. Also did I mention it is New Adult paranormal? Cause that was a HUGE draw for me!

Dakota is not your normal heroine. For one she wears and eye patch and she rocks that eye patch! It’s very clear that something terrible happened to her, but exactly what isn’t clear. Dakota is so strong and focuses on living her life to the fullest. She doesn’t let her past and limited eyesight stop her. She is a kickass photographer and is determined to be the best photographer she can possibly be. So when the opportunity to photograph Vicious Feast lands in her lap, she can’t let that opportunity pass her by.

Luka is a complicated creature. There were moments where I absolutely loved him and wanted to keep him forever, but then there were moments where I wanted to knock some sense into him. He clearly has demons he is hiding and I’m dying to pull his layers apart. His secrets have secrets and I want to know them all!

While I really came to love all the characters, I can easily say Dray is my favorite secondary character. He is just so sweet and such a cutie. He has so many random facts and I could listen to him list them off all day long. I love every single scene he was in and I want more of him!

Savor was the kind of read with a very slow buildup. I love when this is done well and Savor does it well! The story moves along with pieces and clues being dropped here and there and you have to try and put the whole picture together. I’m still not entirely sure what kind of paranormal being I’m dealing with and the anticipation is killing me. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book! The only thing is I felt like the book climaxed at the end and then the book was just over. I’m left with a lot of questions and I felt like all of Savor was buildup but then I never fully came down from the buildup. It succeeded in leaving me wanting more, but at the same time I’m just like: where are my answers?!?!

Savor is a good read and it is one that keeps you glued to the pages. I loved the characters and the whole world this book created. It’s like a magical world in the middle of our normal one. I am eagerly anticipating the follow up to Savor
