25 Days of Book Boyfriends: Jesse Walker (Top 5 and Giveaway)

Welcome to my stop on the 25 Days of Book Boyfriends hosted by myself, Lovin Los Libros, and Starbucks & Books Obsession. Make sure you follow the tour, check out the stops here. Today I will be featuring one of my very favorite book boyfriends: Jesse Walker from Lost & Found by Nicole Williams. Jesse captured my heart from the start and he will always be a favorite of mine. So first, here is a little bit about Lost & Found.

Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble
"There’s complicated. And there’s Rowen Sterling.
After numbing pain for the past five years with boys, alcohol, and all-around apathy, she finds herself on a Greyhound bus to nowhere Montana the summer after she graduates high school. Her mom agreed to front the bill to Rowen’s dream art school only if Rowen proves she can work hard and stay out of trouble at Willow Springs Ranch. Cooking breakfast at the crack of dawn for a couple dozen ranch hands and mucking out horse stalls are the last things in the world Rowen wants to spend her summer doing.
Until Jesse Walker saunters into her life wearing a pair of painted-on jeans, a cowboy hat, and a grin that makes something in her chest she’d thought was frozen go boom-boom. Jesse’s like no one else, and certainly nothing like her. He’s the bright and shiny to her dark and jaded.
Rowen knows there’s no happily-ever-after for the golden boy and the rebel girl—happily-right-now is a stretch—so she tries to forget and ignore the boy who makes her feel things she’s not sure she’s ready to feel. But the more she pushes him away, the closer he seems to get. The more she convinces herself she doesn’t care, the harder she falls.
When her dark secrets refuse to stay locked behind the walls she’s kept up for years, Rowen realizes it’s not just everyone else she needs to be honest with. It’s herself."

"Win, lose, on top of the world, or at rock bottom...
I'm with you Rowen Sterling. To the very end."

Jesse is charming, optimistic, hardworking, dedicated, loyal, endearing, gorgeous, knows how to wear a pair of jeans, and always looks for the good in people. Where most people saw Rowen as a freak, Jesse saw her for the person she was. He is kind and patient and willing to go for what he wants, and he wants Rowen. Jesse treats her like gold and is a prime example of how a girl should be treated by her boyfriend. In a world where a lot of New Adult books spotlight a hero as a troubled guy who gets away with treating the girl worse than he should, Jesse is like a beacon of light. We all love the troubled bad boys and I’ll be honest I forgive them most of the time (unless it’s too extreme) but it’s nice to have a guy I don’t have to forgive anything. A guy that is just good and who trusts his girlfriend. Jesse doesn’t really do jealous.

“I know we can make it through anything, Rowen. The past couple of months have proven that to me. I know we could make it if we were far away from each other, I trust that. I have faith in that. The thing is… I don’t want to do it. I want to be near you. Every day. Every night. Why should I settle for you from far away when I can have you near me every morning when I wake up?”

Jesse not only makes you swoon but he breaks your heart. He has had a troubled past, but he has worked to move on from it. But the past doesn’t always stay in the past, and sometimes it rears its ugly head. When we finally learn about Jesse’s past in full, I think my heart shattered into a million pieces. To see this truly strong guy who always looks on the brighter side of life and then learn how dark his first five years of life were, it just broke me.

To sum it all up, Jesse is amazing and if you haven’t met him yet, I highly recommend you do. If you still need some convincing, here are 5 reasons you need to meet Jesse and then GO GET THE BOOK!

“We don’t deserve anything, Rowen. We don’t deserve punishment, we don’t deserve happiness, life owes us nothing. Realize that.” His voice wasn’t gentle anymore; it was strong as I’d ever heard it. “So we have to take what we want because life sure as shit isn’t going to freely hand it over.” He kissed the skin just above my collar bone. “ And I want you.”

5 Reasons You Need To Meet Jesse:
1. He wears jeans better than anyone else... practically painted on... makes for a nice view.

2. He is a good guy through and through. He treats Rowen the way every girl deserves to be treated.

3. His forgiveness knows no bounds. Seriously! He forgives people some crazy crazy stuff.

4. He doesn't let his past define him. His past is pretty dark, but he still maintains a positive outlook on life.

5. Have I mentioned how adorable he is? Because really, he is the absolute cutest!
