"It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?"

My Thoughts:

A few months ago I read Wait For You and declared it my favorite JLA book ever. I also declared Cam my new number one book boyfriend. Then time passed and I read other amazing JLA books and while I never completely forgot Cam and Avery, they did get pushed to the back of my mind. Well, in reading Trust In Me, I have been reminded why I fell so hard for Cam and the story.

Now I know not everyone enjoys alternate point of view books, and I’ll admit that I am pretty picky with them. The book needs to feel different even though it’s the same story. With that being said, you have to also go into the story knowing that there will be overlap and you will see some of the same events again and that it lacks the surprise when you know what happened. Personally I thought this was one of the best alternative point of view books I have read. Part of it was that I truly loved being inside Cams head. It is such a lovely, charming, adorable place to be. Also, while I may have known the outcome, I was never bored. It was insightful to see what Cam was thinking and feeling. The story felt fresh and new despite me knowing what was coming. It was just as emotional this time around.

I’ve gushed about Cam a lot but I feel he deserves more gushing. I just love him to bits and pieces. He is so sweet and kind and perfect. And he truly loves Avery with all of his heart. I loved seeing Avery through his eyes. That she is awkward and shy and quirky and that he loves her for who she is; no reservations. To him she is perfect and irreplaceable. He is a good guy, the best guy really. Plus he can make awesome cookies and eggs. Doesn’t get much better.

I want to take some time to mention the secondary characters. I friggin loved Ollie, even more than I did previously. He is just too funny for words and I want to give him all the smooshes. Then we have Jase, and let’s just say I am dying for some more of him. Of course there is Raphael and I still love that little green fella.

When I started writing this review, I intended it to be a mini review since that is what I normally do for novellas, but clearly I had a lot to say. I just have so much love for this book and Cam. Wait For You fans, this book needs to be added to your “must read” list.

  1. I AM STARTING THIS ONE TODAY!!

I'm with you one alternating view points on the same story. They can come off as feeling different and leave you with no real surprises. I am glad that Trust in Me was not the case!

I love me some Cam, so I know I am going to fully enjoy being inside that boys head!!! OH yes!! You've got me so excited! I wish I could start it NOW!!

  2. I'm not sure if I've ever read and alternate point-of-view story before, b/c I don't really want to read the same thing. If anyone is worth his own version, it's Cam. Great review, Teresa!

  3. Eep!! Great Review! I am starting this today!! I love Cam too and Wait For You is the book that hooked me to NA. I feel the same as you. I like alternate POV books but I am picky as well. They can't just be the exact same story from a different perspective. So happy to hear that this one is done right.

  5. Fantastic review, Teresa! I can't wait to read Cam's version of the story. :) I saw JLA last night at a signing and she shared that Cam isn't really a good cook. His cookies just happen to turn out good!. LOL
