"It is March 32nd, the day that doesn't exist, and Death, the agent of nightmares, has been demoted and exiled to live among mortals for the rest of his unnaturally long life. Everyone knows They don't look lightly on important items getting lost or an agent falling in love.

Can the diva-like Death navigate the modern world, recover what was stolen from him (the names of the damned ooops!) and get his job back? Or will he fall in love with Lola, the pretty thief who got him into all this trouble in the first place?"

My Thoughts:

Death and Mr. Right is a fun and quirky read with some dark undertones. It’s not a book to be taken too seriously and one that you should just sit back and enjoy. It’s the kind of read you pick up when you need a break from more serious books.

Our main character Death is a funny one and easily my favorite character of the bunch. His thought process was hysterical and I loved how he would constantly go off on tangents inside his head. He didn’t always think before he spoke, which led to some very funny conversations. Then we had Mr. Right, who I wish I could have gotten to know better. I feel like I don’t really know why he did some of the things he did. I liked him, but I wanted to understand him better. Last but not least, we had Lola and she is the character I struggled with most. Honestly, I didn’t like her a lot of the time. I thought she caused more trouble than she was worth.

Speaking of Lola and trouble, she really is the catalyst for all of Death’s problems. So I didn’t get his attraction to her. I don’t really know what he saw in her. I also didn’t see their connection. I saw that they got along, but they felt more like friends than anything else to me.

The plot in the story was interesting, albeit confusing at time. The story constantly switched perspective and it wasn’t always easy to keep up with. With that, because of the switching it felt as if too much was always going on at once. All of the story lines led to one outcome, but as it was all progressing it wasn’t always easy to keep up with the switching from one story line to the next. I didn’t understand what was driving the villains and some of the plot left me with more questions than answers.

Despite these drawbacks, Death and Mr. Right was a fun read. If you can go into the story knowing that you just need to enjoy and not question, then you will definitely enjoy the book. I really enjoyed the humor and quirkiness and that our characters are not your typical characters. These characters are unique and a little weird. The kind of characters that people with a quirky streak can really relate to.

All in all, Death and Mr. Right is a fun read and perfect for when you need something light and quick.
