"The first in Tara Sue Me’s seductive and scandalous series that has enthralled millions…

Abby King has a secret fantasy.

New York knows Nathaniel West as the brilliant and handsome CEO of West Industries, but Abby knows he’s more: a sexy and skilled dominant who is looking for a new submissive. Yearning to experience a world of pleasure beyond her simple life as a librarian, Abby offers herself to Nathaniel, to fulfill her most hidden desires.

After only one weekend with the Master, Abby knows she needs more, and fully submits to Nathaniel’s terms. But despite the pleasure he takes in Abby’s willing spirit, the Nathaniel hidden behind the rules remains cold and distant.

As Abby falls deeper into his tantalizing world of power and passion, she fears that Nathaniel’s heart may be beyond her reach—and that her own might be beyond saving…"

My Thoughts:

This book was addictive. I could not put it down and I didn’t. I read it in one sitting and loved every single second of it. It was fun and steamy read. It’s not a story to be taken too seriously and one you should just sit back and enjoy. Also, I’m sure this goes without saying, but this is not a book for everyone.

Abby was an interesting perspective to read from. She seeks out the Dom/Sub relationship, so she isn’t shocked by Nathaniel’s tendencies, which I find to be a common theme. With that being said though, she is new to this kind of relationship and doesn’t know what to fully expect. I liked Abby a lot, she was sassy and funny and most importantly she wasn’t whiny. I hate whiny.

Nathaniel was another interesting character. It’s obvious he has built up walls, but something about Abby starts to break them down. I liked Nathaniel a lot. He was charming and handsome and just a good person. I was surprised at how generous and giving his character was. Even with his mistakes, I really liked him.

The plot in The Submissive is what you would pretty much expect it to be. It follows Abby and Nathaniel’s relationship and all that entails. Of course their relationship faces numerous ups and downs. Because of this focus, we don’t really get to know too many people outside of them very well, but the characters we meet are fun. I took a real liking to Elaine. I thought she was a great addition and someone it would be very easy to be friends with.

Now of course I need to mention how steamy the book was. I mean with that title, it pretty much has to be. There are a lot of scenes that make you reach for a glass of water. It’s just a very fun and very steamy read. There is not much else to be said about that.

All in all, The Submissive was everything I expected it to be. It was fun and steamy and just a good story. It was easy to like and root for the characters and was exactly what I wanted to find when I picked up this book.

  1. You won't believe it but I get really bored with these sub/dom things. No idea but they are mostly all the same and yeah I get the point but mostly things annoy me. Glad you were able to enjoy this one. Great review :)
