"With one look, I’m his . . .
With one touch, he’s mine . . .

With one kiss, it changes everything between us . . .

I’ve been famous since I can remember. Singing, acting, dancing—I’ve done it all. The tabloids cover my every move, but I don’t want that anymore. I want to be normal, whatever that is.

When I leave Hollywood for college in Vermont, I’m on my own for the first time in my life. This is my chance to figure out who I am and what I want in life.

But it’s a lot harder than I expected. I can’t escape my image. Classes are difficult, and I’m struggling. And then there’s Caleb Fox.

Sexy, intriguing Caleb Fox.

Caleb is the one man who doesn’t want to use me. He breaks down my walls. He challenges me. He wants me. And I just don’t know if I can give him the same—or if he’ll stick around when he finds out my shameful secret that the tabloids haven’t managed to uncover.

Dating him is risky enough, but loving him could break me."

My Thoughts:

First things first, I love that cover. That cover is so pretty and immediately drew me in. Not even going to lie, it’s a big part of why I picked up the book. I’m so glad the cover was pretty because I really enjoyed this book. Before reading this book I had been in a serious reading funk. I just didn’t want to read and nothing was grabbing my attention. When I finally opened this book I read it in one sitting. It kicked my reading funks butt. It was just the type of book I needed.

Hailey is not your typical New Adult heroine. She was America’s Sweetheart and famous since she was the Gerber baby. She has never lived a normal life, so when she decides she wants one her whole life changes. She leaves her whole life behind to go to college and start new. This alone shows that she is a strong character, even if she doesn’t see that strength or believe in herself. Hailey is a bit lost and it is easy to feel for her. Of course she is carrying a secret, because aren’t all characters carrying a secret, but the fact that Hailey kept her secret when her life is splashed across the tabloids is kind of amazing. This secret though, not at all what you would expect it to be.

Of course I must mention our love interest, Caleb Fox. I loved Caleb. He was so sweet and understanding and so patient with Hailey. Hailey doesn’t trust easily and instead of pushing her, Caleb lets her move at her own pace. He is a good guy. He isn’t the tattooed broken bad boy that all of a sudden turns his life around for a girl. He is just a good guy. I love when the hero in New Adult is a guy like this. He is the kind of guy every girl deserves to find.

My favorite thing about Stay With Me is that it was pretty low on the angst, which I wasn’t expecting at all. It was more about Hailey’s journey than it was about the obstacles facing Hailey and Caleb. Caleb was there to support Hailey, not to cause drama. I loved that! I loved that they worked together and that Caleb supported her in everything, even when things get messy. It was nice to read a New Adult without all the angst.

All in all, Stay With Me is a great read for New Adult fans, especially those looking for something that is low on the drama. And if all of that doesn’t sell you, just look at the cover again.

  1. I haven't seen this one before. I really like that the book low on angst as mainly NA books are full of it and it drives me crazy. Even though it sounds like typical NA story still is sounds like something I might enjoy. Great review Teresa :)

    1. I was surprised there wasn't more angst in this one, and I kind of loved the book more for that. They story is what you expect NA to be, just less angst more about the girl growing up.

  2. Hey girly girl!!!! Gah! I miss you! Life's not the same without seeing your lovely comments every week! Seriously, I'm tempted to just start Book Me! up again so I can still interact with all my blogging buddies!

Anyway, my darling, wonderful review! I've been seeing this one around everywhere lately and the cover is so damn pretty I'm also convinced I should read it on that alone. Also, I'm liking the sound of Caleb! Foxy! ;)
    Take care, my sweet!

  4. Love it! This is an excellent review, Teresa! You know I loved Stay With Me, too. And I admit to the cover being the reason I wanted to read it as well. :)

  5. I love when I pick up a book and it knocks out a reading funk! And I agree, that cover rocks!! I'd pick up the book just for the cover, too. heehee I need a good book that is low on the angst! I have a feeling I need to read this one! OH YES!

    Great review!!

    1. Hehe cant wait to see what you think of it! I think you'll love Caleb!

  6. Low angst sounds perfect! I love that the relationship between Caleb and Hailey's relationship is a support to her.
    Great review, Teresa!

  7. Oh I'm glad you liked this girl! I feel you on the reading slump! I'm falling into one as we speak! (But I think it's because my book isn't that great.) I absolutely fell head over heels for Caleb. He is AMAZING. I also like the good guy heroes! I was also very happy with the low angst. Great review my friend!

  8. Interesting. I was on the fence about this one but I do love a simple, straightforward read that is also entertaining. Angst is cool every now and then, but sometimes it's just too much. Great review hon!

  9. I fell hard for this cover when I spotted it on NG but I was being strong and didn't request. Now I wish I had had a moment of serious weakness because this sounds AWESOME! Brilliant review, wifey -- definitely adding it to the list <3
