Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke And The Bookish

I love this weeks topic! I am always complaining or gushing over movie adaptations!

1. The Hunger Games by: Suzanne Collins- I thought they did a great job with this one. I love Jennifer Lawrence and they did a pretty good job of sticking to the book.

2. Harry Potter by: J.K. Rolwing- Yeah... I love these. Even though they made some changes, the movies are still awesome.

3. Lord of the Rings by: J.R.R. Tolkien- I love these movies! So so awesome!

4. Gone With The Wind by: Margaret Mitchell- It's a classic!

5. A Walk To Remember by: Nicholas Sparks- Yes they changed a good amount of the book. but the movie was still great.

6. Breaking Dawn Part 2 by: Stephenie Meyer- I know there is a lot of hatred towards these, but I have a soft spot for them and I really enjoyed the last one!

7. My Sisters Keeper by: Jodi Picoult- They took an incredible twist of an end and just changed it. Why?!?! Why did they do that?!?!

8. Dear John by: Nicholas Sparks- THEY RUINED THE ENDING!

9. Eragon by: Christopher Paolini- This was just... no. They changed so much and took out some of the best parts!

10. Beautiful Creatures by: Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia- This one started off strong and then it just died. That ending killed it! Ugh!!!

What made your list?

  1. I've only seen half those films. Sad to say, I can't remember the ending to Dear John. HP & Breaking Dawn, I loved both of those too.
    Happy Tuesday :)

  2. I love the HP movies. There's no way to include every single detail, and I was okay with the ones that were left out. The acting was amazing, special effects incredible - great movies all around.

  3. My Sister's Keeper made my list today for ones I'm worried about reading! Great list, I agree they did a great job with Harry Potter movies and The Hunger Games.

  4. Awful movie adaptations of great books are one of my pet peeves in life. I want to tell movie producers, "Leave my books alone!"

Here's my Top Ten Best Movie Adaptations.

  5. I've heard a lot about how Creatures was ruined but I haven't read the book so I enjoyed the movie! You commented on my blog about Dear John as well. Yes, they absolutely ruined that ending (the book one is the most beautiful amazing ending ever) but if I ignore that then I really enjoy the movie. The real ending is on the special features so at least it's out there! AWTR is the my fave movie of all time! I don't care that they changed it at all! Shane was the perfect choice!

  6. Omg totally forgot Dear John! You are totally right about that ending! Ugh! I was so mad! Great list!

  7. Great list! I love the adaptation of the Harry Potter books. I mean, there's no way they could get everything in, but did a remarkable job.

  8. They did do a horrible job for Eragon! It made me so so sad and mad!!! Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings all the way!! *fist bumps* Yes! And I think having Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss was a great choice for the movie! Love this post!

  9. I agree about Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings!
I didn't like Eragon either, and from the casting and teaser I decided to save the money for Beautiful Creatures for something else. I liked the book but that movie didn't look like my kind of thing.

  10. Yay! I complete agree with HG. I thought they did a good job! And YES to LOTR! Those movies are freaking epic. I think I teared up when Return of the King won Best Picture at the Oscars. And I'm really glad I didn't bother seeing Beautiful Creatures. I doubt I will. :D

  11. Gotta agree with you on these. Especially Eragon! What did they do to that fabulous story???

  12. We definitely had picks in common - YES to LOTR!! And a big, resounding "No" to Beautiful Creatures, which was a hot mess all around. And though it didn't make our list I agree with you about Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 - I actually enjoyed it because a lot of exciting action scenes happened!

Thanks for sharing a charming list :)

  13. I sense a theme of changed endings...Uh oh. I haven't seen Beautiful Creatures yet, but I do want to, despite generally hearing that it sucked. The book was pretty bad though, too, and I still liked it in general...
