Character Spotlight: Braden Carmichael

So my character spotlight this week is on a character that holds a very special place in my heart. I was gushing about this character with my blogging wifey Michele over at A Belle’s Tales and I could probably gush about him forever, so I was inspired to finally do my character spotlight on him this week. Braden Carmichael from On Dublin Street by Samantha Young is my character of choice!

It really is no secret how much I absolutely adored On Dublin Street. It is probably one of my all time favorite books. A big reason for that is I loved the characters. Jocelyn is wonderful and Braden is just delicious. Braden is the kind of character that it is very easy to fall head over heels in love with and fall I did. From the moment he got in the cab with Jocelyn, I knew he was going to be a favorite of mine.

One of the biggest reasons I love Braden is that he is realistic. He is not perfect and sometimes he says things that make me feel like I have been pushed off a cliff, but that is what makes him real. Guys don’t always have the perfect thing to say and sometimes they say the wrong thing, and that is Braden. Then again, most of the time Braden knows exactly what to say.

Braden is a very strong and domineering character, but he is also caring and sweet and romantic. I loved that he was so willing to put up with all of Jocelyn’s crap because he thought she was worth it. He knows exactly what makes her tick and knows just what to say to make her see reason. Also, with Braden it is necessary to acknowledge how schmexy he is. I swear the man is just made of swoon. I pretty much melted into a puddle every time he opened his mouth!

So to sum it up, if you have not met Braden Carmichael yet, I suggest you do.

Favorite Braden Quotes:
“I know you love me, Jocelyn, because there’s no fucking way I can be this much in love with you, and not have you feel the same way. It’s not possible.”

“I feel like I'm missing something really important when you're gone. So important I don't feel like myself. I've never felt like someone was mine before. But you're mine, Jocelyn. I've known that from the moment we met. And I'm yours. I don't want to be anyone else's, babe.”

“I'm making a list of things that make you agreeable."
I scoffed, pushing my foot into his leg. "And all you got is sex and vacations?"
"The length of the list is not my fault."
"Are you saying I'm disagreeable?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Woman, how stupid do you think I am? You really think I'm answering that? I want to get laid tonight?"
I pushed him harder. "Watch it, or you might get laid to rest."
Braden threw his head back and laughed.”

  2. First of all, I'm all in a giddy bounce because you're talking about me, but I'm also giggling because I talked about YOU in my post today! I feel like we showed up to school wearing the same outfit -- which, knowing us, we probably would. Wifey twins!!

Now, Holy Swoons! You know how much I adore this man! I cannot thank you enough for bringing him into my dreams...erm... life. I still haven't stopped thinking about Braden Carmichael, and I'm quite okay with that. I love that Braden has such a strong personality but is soooo sweet. He's just amazing. LOVE the quotes you shared! If you didn't have me so captivated with Will Cooper right now, I'd be running straight back to Dublin Street ;) Awesome post! xoxo

  5. If you look to the ground right in front of your feet, Teresa darling, you will find a puddle of goo. And the name of said puddle....MAIDA! I think I am in love with Braden. I knew you were gonna do a spotlight for him, and it was definitely worth the wait.

And okay, let's be serious for a moment, if a guy can make you fall off a cliff....I'd say he knows how to knock a girl off her feet (LMFAO..XD get it!) *snicker*

I can't wait to meet this yummilicious man and perhaps steal him away and lock him in my closet (bed...but you get what I mean) ;p

Love love loooove the spotlight! :)

    1. No I will not share Braden. You can't have him! You can borrow him for a while but you cannot steal him forever!
