"Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…"

My Thoughts:

I never thought this would happen, but it has. Lux has always been my favorite and I still absolutely love it, but Wait For You has stolen that spot. This is definitely JLA’s best book yet and with how much I love her other books that is really saying something. There was just something about this book that hooked me from the beginning and I fell head over heels in love with the characters. I have never been disappointed by any of her books and I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

Avery is very different from JLA’s other leading ladies, just proving that she can pretty much write anything. Avery has had a rough couple of years and it has changed her. She wants to be like every other fun college student, but the events from her past keep that from happening. At the same time though, she is not weak. She is strong and determined to move on. She makes new friends and begins to come out of her shell. Then she meets Cam… and well… things happen.

Cam may just be my new favorite… scratch that… CAM IS MY NEW FAVORITE. I love everything about him. He gives Daemon a run for his money in both the wit and ego department. Let’s just say that Cam is confident and it works for him. He is also incredibly witty and we all know how much I love the wit. He always has a comment and knows just what to say. He is also super sweet and caring and oh so swoon worthy. He is such a friggin cutie too; there were so many moments where I wanted to squishy hug him. He is not perfect, but oh gosh do I love him so. And yeah, I don’t know if I will ever be able to eat eggs again without thinking of Cam.

This book is just filled with so many wonderful characters. Jacob is absolutely hysterical as is Brit. Plus both are really great friends, and just what Avery needed in her life. Ollie is another one that is just very easy to love. Then I cannot forget Raphael, he may be the best of them all.

Wait For You is the perfect mix of sweet and funny moments as well as truly touching ones. I loved the banter between Avery and Cam and I loved watching the relationship develop. It was really adorable and Cam was oh so persistent. Along with the sweet though there is a darker undertone. The story wasn’t just about Cam and Avery’s relationship. It was also about Avery moving on from her past and learning to open up to others again and most of all learning to trust and love. It really says a lot about Cam that he was willing to wait for Avery to come to terms with it all.

So yeah, I loved this book. It is definitely my favorite JLA book to date and I seriously never thought anything would beat Lux. I don’t even know what else to say except that you need to read this book.

  1. Fantastic review Teresa! I agree with you that it's hard to believe that something could beat the Lux series but I think this did for me too. The characters were so great and I'm so in love with Cam and Ollie. I just really loved how the story and the relationship developed also. I'm so excited that JLA announced a sequel now! :)

  2. Yay, I'm so happy that you lurrrrrved it!(: I was so stoked that JLA wrote a New Adult cause you know, those are my current addiction!

Dude, you got it so right on about Cam's confidence and his ability to have something to say in response to everything! And ermahgerd, him and his eggs -- I can't even. SWOON. <333

Also, your line, "He always has a comment and knows just what to say," totally reminded me of when they kiss for the first time and Cam says, "Just so we're clear, this isn't a kiss." *heart palpitations* LOL

    Amazing review, girl! Loved it!

  11. Oh Teresa! Where do I even begin with this one! I COMPLETELY agree with every point you touched on. I honestly think this is Jennifer's best work and I was just so emotionally absorbed in this story, I couldn't find any faults. It was amazing, awesome, incredible...and every other word that means SUPERFANTABULOUS!

And Cam....that sexy man! He stole my freakin heart and he doesn't even know it! Gosh, him and his cookies, his eggs and his turtle and his sexy smile and that oh so wonderful dimple! I could go on forever about him. And I agree, the best part (aside from his hot bod ;p) is his willingness and patience to help and accept Avery. I loved their relationship and how much each learned from one another. And Avery is just straight out admirable! The strength this chick has is mind blowing. If I went through even half as much as she did...I know for a fact I'd be either bawling in bed with my Kit-Kat ice cream or I'd be hiding in a closet. I just LOVE her! :D

LOL ;p Can't forget Jacob....*snicker* I am in love with him! He was so funny and sweet and caring and everything a best friend should be! I am secretly hoping he gets his own book. I think it'd not only be hilarious and HOT!!! :D

GAHHHH.....I LOVE THIS FREAKIN BOOK!!! I want it in paperback so badly....we should hold a petition. Seriously, not even kidding. But yeah, I am so many feels for this book, it's not even funny. I just love it, and lets leave it at that.

TERRIFABULICIOUS REVIEW, TERESA!! :D I can't wait for the next installment to come out, so I can read it and possibly make fun of you....or be jealous of you..and Jase...and yeah...*sigh* Btw, the green monster says hello...again.
