"Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.

Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist...."

My Thoughts:

So someone seriously need to smack me! Why it took me so long to pick up this book I will honestly never know. So many people told me how amazing it was but for some reason I kept putting it off and I am such a dummy for that. I am such a big fan of Abbi Glines’ Existence trilogy, but damn, The Vincent Boys blew those books out of the water. I easily finished this book in one sitting, a thing that has become much harder for me to do since starting my “big girl” job.

Ashton was a realistic character and I loved her for it. She tries so hard to please everyone, that who she actually is suffers in the process. On the outside, she has the perfect life including the perfect boyfriend, the town’s golden boy: Sawyer Vincent. What people fail to realize is that Ash just wants to be herself again. A girl who is not perfect and sometimes wants to break a few rules. She is just a real girl and the only one who truly knows her is Beau Vincent.

Beau, holy hot hell, I loved this boy! He sees the real Ash and that is the Ash he loves, not the Ash everyone else sees. He loves her because of her imperfections and not in spite of them or because he thinks they do not exist. Beau is the town bad boy, but he is really much more than that. He is a good person despite the trouble he sometimes gets himself into. Beau has a bad rep, that I think is a little bit undeserved. As kids, Beau and Ash were partners in crime, that is until Ash and Sawyer started dating. I loved the passion between Ash and Beau and I loved that they could be perfectly imperfect together.

Sawyer is a decent guy, I guess, but damn if he didn’t get on my nerves. I can’t put my finger on what it is exactly, but he bothers me and I guess that is how I am supposed to feel about him. I should be rooting for Beau! Although I do admit that towards the end I did start to like him a bit more. I’m curious to see his story in The Vincent Brothers, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to read about him alone just yet.

The plot in The Vincent Boys is not overly complicated, but it is addictive and it throws some twists and turns in there. It also hurts! It is hard to see how everyone will come out of the story happy and then you realize that somebody is going to get hurt, but that is life. The Vincent Boys shows that you can’t live life making everyone else happy, that you have to make yourself happy too.

Overall, I simply thought this book was fabulous! I am so glad I finally got around to reading this book. I literally loved every second of it and the end left me with a happy heart.

  8. I think we felt the same way about this one! Oddly, it's one of those books that I didn't take the time to review, but despite a few minor points, I think I enjoyed this more than Existence too!
And I hear ya sister! How freaking irritating is Sawyer, I swear I spent every scene that he was in wanting to punch him in the nose! ;)

    1. I need to learn not to sleep. That would solve everything. It's why it took me forever to read this.
