"Sienna Jensen had no plans to return home when she graduated college last spring—after all, her dreams lie in California. But when she discovers her grandmother’s Nashville home has been foreclosed, and the new owner has started the eviction process, Sienna has no other choice but go back to Music City. And she comes face to face with the flawed, gorgeous man she never thought she’d see again. The man who now holds the deed to her grandma’s estate.

When millionaire rock star Lucas Wolfe finds the outspoken redhead glaring at him from across a courtroom, he’s both infuriated and intrigued. He still can't get the night Sienna almost spent with him out of his mind, and the chemistry between them is as undeniable as it was two years ago. He craves Sienna more than ever. And just like everything Lucas hungers for, he’s determined to have her.

Now, Lucas will do whatever it takes to lure Sienna into his bed, even if that means making a deal with her: ten days with him, playing by his rules, and he’ll hand over the deed to her grandmother’s home. Though she agrees to the arrangement, Sienna is conflicted. Because of her duty to her family. Because of promises she’s made to herself and a past that still haunts her. And as Lucas’s game of seduction continues, and Sienna is introduced to his dark, erotic world and even darker background, she realizes that at any moment, she could be devoured."

My Thoughts:

So I am not entirely sure how I feel about this book. I don’t hate it but at the same time I don’t love it. It was just meh for me and I had some issues with it. The characters are not memorable and honestly I was not impressed by either one of them.

Lucas was not the swoonworthy character I expected him to be. He honestly came across as mean most of the time and he made me feel uncomfortable at times. I didn’t see his sweet side and I am not really sure he has one. There were moments where he wasn’t a complete douche, but that was about it. He is not that jerky bad boy that you still love; he is more that jerk you stay away from because he treats you like crap. I just didn’t fall in love with him.

Sienna was another one I struggled to like. She was very whiny and just blah (for lack of a better word). She let people walk all over her, oh wait, except for Lucas of course. The whole basis of her “relationship” (and I use this term loosely) was that he wanted to make her stronger and that by being submissive to him that would happen. I’m sorry but I couldn’t buy into that reasoning, maybe I could have if it was displayed better, but it wasn’t. I felt like it was an excuse to make it okay for Lucas to treat her the way he did and it was not okay. And I’m not referring to the controlling behavior, there was more.

My other complaint concerns the “love” between the characters. I just didn’t see it. I didn’t get where or how these two fell in “love.” Lust? Absolutely! Lots and lots of lust, but no love for me. I have no idea what event caused Sienna to go “I love him” because I couldn’t find it. I felt as if she just randomly decided yes I’ll love the famous rock star with the tattoos who is trying to buy my grandmother’s house, this seems like a good idea.

So yeah, I don’t really know what else to say about this one. It was a quick read and kinda fun while it lasted but it just wasn't enough for me. I’m sure there are others out there who will love this but I am just not one of them.

  1. I completely agree with your thoughts on this one, which is probably why I still haven't gotten around to reviewing it. It had a few good moments; but, yeah, for the most part - forgettable. I still love the cover, though ;) Love the honest and super review!

    1. Haha I can't wait to see what you finally have to say about this one, even though I pretty much know how you felt.

  2. Aww, sorry this one was so-so. Characters really have to pop in order to stand out with so many books to read, and it sounds like these didn't.
At least the cover is nice, and there were some good moments.

  3. I have to admit, as a NA fan, I was a bit skeptical about this book as well. All of your issues with it, were things that I wondered about myself.

  4. Teresa !!!!! :)

You know how I feel about this one but oh my goodness, you nailed all it straight to a tee with this review!

The one thing I didn't or couldn't get is why Sienna all of a sudden fell in love with him. It wasn't like they were friends from back then or anything either. Also, the other BIG, HUGE thing I didn't get (or maybe it slipped my attention -- no, wait it couldn't have) was why Lucas's ex, Sam (was that her name?), was being the way she was; like... what did she have over him? ARGH.

Just talking about it gets me all worked up, lol. Anyway, loved your review!

    1. Yea we've discussed this, but is worth repeating... I just did not see the connection between these two at all.

  5. Ha, I'm laughing at Momo's comment!

I've basically read exactly what you said in a lot of reviews. I have this, but still haven't read it. I heard the prequel, All Over You, explains their past.

I will say that Tidal, by Emily Snow, is beautiful. I loved it so much.

    Great review.

  6. Oh, thanks for your review bc from the cover, I would've wanted to give this a try, but this def sounds like something I won't like. The guy sucks and the girl is submissive? No thanks!

  7. OH NO! I was really looking forward to this one too. D: A lot of people on goodreads enjoyed it, but for some reason I didn't pick it up then. I'm glad I waited though. I also hate it when the love is all instant and without reason. I mean if you're going to write a love story, might as well make it realistic, know what I mean. Gosh, it's books like this that get me soo cheesed! -_-

And don't even get me started on Sienna...I've only read one book where there was a character like her, and I can just imagine how annoying she would be.

I was going to read this, but now I don't think I'll be looking into it, although I'll admit the cover is pretty hot! LOL ;p (Me and covers...*sigh* Some things just can't change. ;p)

Sorry it didn't work out for you, Teresa! But, FANTABURRIFIC review! :D
