"Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love."

My Thoughts:

Once upon a time I read this little book called Obsidian and I fell in love. Now, eight books later, Jenn has yet to disappoint. Tempting the Player was just as good as any other JLA book, but in its own distinct way. No two of her series are alike and that holds true with this book. While it may be a part of the Gamble Brothers series, it is not just a replica of Tempting the Best Man with a different brother. It is its own distinct story with its own distinct characters. This is why she is my favorite! No matter what she writes, her stories are always gripping and addictive and just plain old good.

Chase, I love you but I think Chad has got you beat. There is just something about Chad that makes him irresistible. He is adorable and witty and the best part is he knows it. He has a huge ego or to put it nicely he is very confident. Just like all of Jenn’s guys, Chad is to die for!

Bridget is an awesome character. I absolutely loved her! From her funky style to her spunk, she is just a character that it is very easy to like. Bridget is not the “perfect” girl or what society deems beautiful today. She is a more natural kind of beauty with curves. I also loved that Chad was attracted to her for this reason, because she wasn’t supermodel thin. I loved that she was normal, for lack of a better word. (I think I may have overused the word love…)

It was fun to see Madison and Chase again and I liked seeing them as a couple. It is nice to see them in their happily ever after. The few moments we saw them, were incredibly cute. Another character I need to smack, I mean mention is Miss Gore. She needs a swift kick in the behind. While I appreciate the part she played, she still needs a large stick removed from a certain area. I get the feeling though that we will be seeing some more of her.

The plot in Tempting the Player is not overly complicated, but it is addictive. There is no life threatening situation or monsters out to get them, but that is what makes it great. It is just a story about two people falling in love and you get to watch them move past their insecurities and issues to become better people for one another. It is simply a love story. Of course this love story contains a lot of steamy moments, even more so than Tempting the Best Man, I know I didn’t think that it was possible either, but it happened. Chad and Bridget get together for some incredibly schmexy scenes that will have you reaching for a glass of water. The combination of steamy with romance will keep you reading late into the night.

All in all, Tempting the Player is another fabulous book from Jennifer L. Armentrout, or J. Lynn in this case. I cannot wait to get my hands on Chandler’s story now!

  2. OH DEAR LORD!!! I just finished this one today and I don't even have any words!!! I thought I loved Chase but Chad, damn.....he literally stole my heart! I loved everything about this story. It was cute and like you said, not complicating - which I loved, for it's simplicity. And I also agree about Bridget. I loved how she wasn't model thin, but like any normal woman. It was refreshing.

Then, Miss. Gore, I actually found her very interesting. And I have a feeling the next book is going to make me laugh my butt off, if I'm thinking the characters are who I think they are (that made no sense but you get my point! LOL ;p) I can't wait to see more of her!

So, glad you loved this as much as I did! Do you think, we should start counting down the torturous days until Tempting The BodyGuard comes out, (I mean, before we go crazy)?

    Brilliant review!
