"Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.

Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.

Even if it means making war against the gods."

My Thoughts:

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.

I dare you not to fall in love with Aiden St. Delphi after reading Elixir. This book makes it painfully clear that there is absolutely nothing he will not do for Alex. This includes pissing off a bunch of gods.

Elixir was a wonderful novella and it helped me cope with that killer ending in Deity. It didn’t make everything better, but it will give the reader a feeling a hope. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, if only Aiden and Alex are strong enough to make it there. I personally have faith, and if they don’t make it, I may just go curl up in a ball for the rest of my life.

The Alex we see in Elixir is a very different Alex from the one we have all come to know and love. For reasons I will not go into, Alex is almost a new person. I really missed her attitude, snark, and her vivacious personality.

Poor Aiden is forced to make some very tough choices on behalf of Alex in Elixir, because she really is in no place to make them for herself. I just wanted to hug him and make him feel better. He spends a good portion of the novella torturing himself over this, but in the end he will always do what is right by Alex.

I really loved getting inside Aiden’s head and finally seeing what goes on in there. Aiden has always been a tough one to crack and Elixir was very illuminating. We all know by now that he loves Alex, but I don’t think anyone realized just how much he truly loves her until you see his thoughts and understand just how deep those feelings go.

“And I finally understood why Paris had risked his country and his blood for Helen. Selfish, yes, but I understood. I would burn down the world if that meant Alex would be safe.”

This is by far my favorite JLA novella to date! Yes, Daimon and Shadows are great, but there is just something truly outstanding about Elixir. All in all, it is a great novella that will help give the readers some hope and peace of mind as we wait for Apollyon.

  1. I wholly agree! Elixir is awesome. After the ending in Deity I thought I had no choice but to just breakdown ...then I remembered I had Elixir and the world was ok again. I didn’t think I could love Aiden anymore, but it turns out I was wrong! AIDEN! All hail AIDEN!!

  5. I can't wait to get into Aiden's head in Elixir! But, you know what, I actually liked Seth in Pure and am still hoping for that HEA. Don't kill me...I'm still and always will be on Team Aiden, but for some reason I felt bad for Seth. But, I'm excited to see how it turns out!

I can't wait to get this! :D Fantabulous review, Teresa!

    1. Aidens head is a wonderful place although its a bit sad at the moment. Don't get me wrong I would like to see everyone get a HEA, Seth included, but his character makes me crazy. Even more so now.

    2. I completely agree. I wonder how Jennifer will pull his character off in the next book, now after all that has happened. I don't have any predictions whatsoever as to how it will turn out, which is making me nervous. But, I imagine, his character will be full of surprises in the next book.

    3. Yea I know what you mean. Like I want the HEA but at the same time I kinda don't want Seth to go the predictable route of the bad guy having a change of heart. I just don't know.

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
