First off- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Second- go here and enter the
awesome Halloween giveaway I have going on! So, if you have been stopping by
the past couple of Saturdays, you may have noticed that I have been featuring some
of my favorite villains in order to celebrate Halloween here on the blog (or
maybe not, who knows). Well if you didn’t know, now you do. Now I know what you
are saying, “Teresa, it is not Saturday.” Yes I do know that, but I also know
that it is in fact Halloween *eats candy* and because of that I am doing a
super special Character Spotlight on the villain I think is the evilest aka
best villain out there. Really, it wasn’t much of a competition, Voldemort wins
this contest HANDS DOWN.
I think it is safe to say that Voldemort is one of the best
known and most notorious villains in the history of literature, I mean people take
classes on this stuff in college. Voldemort is evil personified and he knows
it. He has no remorse what-so-ever and he does truly terrible things. I mean, let’s
be serious, he is threatened by a BABY and has no problem murdering him.
The worst thing about Voldemort is that nobody is safe from
him. This is one of the things that makes him such an awesome villain. Even his
followers are not safe, they fear him just as much as anyone else. He has no
problem getting rid of or using any of his followers, to him they are replaceable.
Human life means absolutely nothing to him and he will get rid of anyone he
feels is standing in his way. Case and point for this: Severus Snape.
Good old Voldie takes everything you knew about villains and
just exceeds everything you could have ever thought to expect. He has defined
evil for an entire generation. I remember being terrified of him as a kid when
I first began Harry Potter. Harry Potter then sparked my love of reading and
basically defined my childhood; but that is all for another post. My point is,
Voldemort cannot be compared to anyone, because there is no other villain out there who even comes
close to the level of evil that he possesses in my opinion. You could never
trust him to be really and truly gone and no matter what happened, nobody was
ever safe with him anywhere around. Heck, years later I still catch myself thinking "but what if there is one more Horcrux out there."
I could go on and on forever with all the reasons why
Voldemort is probably the best villain ever, but I don’t think it would be
anything you haven’t heard already. Simply, Voldemort is a villain with a
mission who refuses to let anyone stop him. He looks down on others and thinks
that he is the best, and in the end that is his downfall. He tries to cheat
death, almost succeeds, but in the end his arrogance is his downfall.

ReplyDeleteHe definitely is the baddest of the bad!!! Super villain if you ask me!!
Great pick! He really is the definition of evil!
There was no way I could pick a different villain lol
DeleteAHHHHHHH......I KNEW IT!!!!! Perfect choice! Voldemort.....oh boy, there is a lot to be said about him. And I guess for such an evil character, in my opinion, he had a "mild" downfall. It should have been much more drastic! LOL ;p You know what would be really scary....if he had children and they were also like him. *shudder* The world would be in chaos.....
ReplyDeleteMARVELLOUS PICK, Teresa! :D
