There is not much I can really say to introduce this guy so I will just leave it at this: I now present an interview with the one and only Jude Ryder: (stop by my stop on the blog tour for a review of Crash and a giveaway)
It is my extreme pleasure to have the infamous Jude Ryder
here with me today. Thank you for taking the time.
Yeah.
Sure. Thanks for having me. *shifts in seat*
Let's start off easy. If you had to describe yourself in two words, what would they be and why?
—Flawed and impulsive.Let's start off easy. If you had to describe yourself in two words, what would they be and why?
—Perfect
and impulsive. That’s why we work. That’s also why we get into some rip-roaring
arguments.
Rip-roaring is a good way to describe it...
And then humor me, two words for Sawyer?
—
Pond. Scum.—
Yea, I would say that is an apt description for him.
I have to know, what was it about Lucy that first day that made you realize she was different from all of the other girls? Then later, why did you try so hard to fight it?
—Every other girl before her didn’t want me for me;
they wanted me for who they wanted me to be. Not for the person I actually
was—screwed up without a hope of repair. But Lucy did. And there was this part
of her I caught a glimpse of right away; a part that said she was messed up
too, but better at disguising it than I was. And then I tried to fight it
because I was a concrete block. If she didn’t cut me loose, she was going to
drown, so I had to do it for her. I have to know, what was it about Lucy that first day that made you realize she was different from all of the other girls? Then later, why did you try so hard to fight it?
I'm curious, how did you first meet Holly? What's your favorite thing about her?
—Holly and I met back in kindergarten. First day of school, she was the only person who could kick a kickball farther than I could. I had to be her friend. From there, I took on more of an older brother role with her as we got older; trying to shield her from losers like Sawyer, but Holly does what Holly wants. That’s one of the reasons we get along so well, I’m the same way. My favorite thing about Holly is her ability to call something for what it is and not feel the need to apologize for it.
What is the hardest decision you have ever had to make?
—The
decision to turn around and walk away from Luce that day in the parking lot. I
knew it was the right decision, but I didn’t want to make it.
Yeah, I’d change a lot. I’d block the front door the night my
mom ran out on us. I’d have flushed the drugs lying around the house my dad
started taking as a result. I’d have hid dad’s .45 from him that morning years
ago. There’s a lot I’d change about my past, but now, I try to live my present
with no regrets.
Lastly, what is your favorite type of candy?
—
*Chuckles and makes a sly grin* How about I say
whipped cream and leave it at that. —
*blushes* what a way to make an innocent question not so innocent...
Random time: This or that?
Chocolate or vanilla? Chocolate
