Blog Tour: Revolution (Collide #4) by: Shelly Crane (Review & Character Interview)

Welcome to my stop on the Revolution Blog Tour hosted by Supa Gurl Books. I have a review and a character interview for you guys.

"In the fourth and final installment, everything is on the line. Merrick's life is in the balance and Lily is their only hope. Ellie and her new powers are miraculous, but also problematic; if she's with the bunker family, they won't be able to sense when the Lighters are there. There are many new members to the bunker and sparks will fly, and with the food shortage, they will all have plenty to deal with. Miguel is intrigued with Rylee, her past and her spunk. Ryan and Elli are barely scratching the surface of their relationship. Cain and Lillian will have to deal with Daniel, who has no qualms about showing his true feelings for her. And Sherry and Merrick…what will happen to this happenstance family who have worked so hard to come together? Can they all survive? Can they all withstand the new enemy that is right outside their door? Can they beat the Lighters, once and for all…"

Revolution is a great end to a great series. When the book opened up with a lyric from one of my favorite bands, The Cab, I knew I was in for a great read and I was not wrong. Can you say one sitting book? Cause that is what this is, but I really shouldn't be surprised. It is near impossible to put down any of Shelly's books and this one was no exception.

Revolution starts off in the middle of action and that action does not let up throughout the course of the book. The poor bunker family never seems to get a break. Whenever things begin to look up something else always seems to go wrong. However they never give up hope and that is one of my favorite parts about this story. No matter how bad things get, this family always manages to keep their heads high and looking toward a brighter future.

Along with all the action comes a lot of sweet romance. Shelly is the Queen of Sweet Romances. Her couples are always adorable and strong without all the angst and drama you get with most couples. It amazes me how she balances action and world ending circumstances with a simple and sweet love story.

Revolution brings back all of the characters we have come to love over the course of the series and there really are a lot of them to love. They are all very different but all mesh together perfectly at the same time. Since there are so many of them I am only going to focus on my favorites. Obviously we have Merrick, and if you follow Shelly's blog you know that he is the voice for the first chapter, but is that the first or last time we see him? Well I'm not telling, read and find out for yourself. Next we have Sherry who has really grown over the four books. She is so strong, but in her own way. She is fierce and determined and always wants to do what is right. Then we have Cain who is my absolute favorite. I simply love his wit and sarcasm and oh yeah the lip ring, can't forget about that. Last but not least I have to mention the ever adorable Lily. It becomes very clear that this little girl is a very important piece of the Lighter-Keeper puzzle.

Like the last couple of books, Revolution switches perspectives throughout the course of the novel. I love getting inside so many different characters heads. We even get inside Lily's head at one point which was kind of fun. I just love the depth the novel gets by switching perspectives and the dynamic it creates.

All in all, Revolution is yet another great book from Shelly Crane. I have yet to dislike one of her books, actually I kind of love them all. So those of you who have been waiting for this book, well then your wait will be rewarded and those of you who have not started this series yet should get on that.

Also, I had the chance to interview Cain and Lillian, which was so exciting. As noted above, Cain is my favorite *ignores glares from Lillian*. It was a pleasure having them both here.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for taking the time to come and visit with me today, I really appreciate it. So if you both had to describe each other in two words what would they be and why?
Lillian: Loyal, Protective
Cain:  Sweet, Genuine

Since Shelly is the Queen of romance, I am curious if you guys believe in love at first sight or do you think it is something that grows over time?
Lillian: Hard question. I think…it takes time.
Cain: It was love at first sight for me with this one. (Grins) She was a beautiful mess. (Gets elbowed and they both laugh)

This question goes for both of you. What was it like when you first arrived at the bunker? Did you ever think you would become so attached to its inhabitants?
Lillian: I was so overwhelmed. We had had such a bad time that honestly, I didn't trust that the relief and rest would last. It was too good to be true.
Cain: I instantly fell in love with the bunker. Being a military man, I know a genuine bunch of people when I see them. This group was fierce in their need and want to help others and stay alive.

Lillian, what made you first try to reach out to Daniel that day? And Cain what was going through your head as she tried to reason with Daniel for the first time?
Lillian: I'm not sure. He was…desperate.
Cain: I wanted to kick his- (Gets elbowed and clears throat) He was a jerkface that needed a little adjustment of the fist variety.

This question is about Lily. I absolutely adore her and I am just curious about each of your thoughts on her?
Lillian: Such a sweetheart! I fell in love with her instantly. I never got to have kids and now…
Cain: She's a baby doll.

Other than the obvious (like not having to hide out in a bunker), what do you miss most about life before the Lighters showed up?
Lillian: Chocolate without a doubt.
Cain: Being able to be normal. Go to town, go dancing, go hang out with friends, get a freaking burger.

Now this is probably a tough question, but do you regret all of the bad that has happened, or was it worth it just to have met each other?
Lillian: (Smiles sadly) I'd have to say…worth it.
Cain: Totally worth it.

Time for some silly This or That questions:
Action or Romance?
Lillian: Action (Laughs)
Cain: Duh. Romance! (laughs)
Summer or Winter?
Lillian: Summer
Cain: Just the thought of L in a bikini…Summer.
Sweet or Sour?
Lillian: Sweet
Cain: Sour
Pink or Blue?
Lillian: Sea Green Blue (points at Cain's eyes) just like that
Cain: Blue (Smiles)
Day or Night?
Both at the same time: Day!!

Thank you Cain and Lillian for stopping by today!
