"Dreaming of the dead might mean a restless night for anyone, but for Nina Grey it was a warning.
Still healing from her last run-in with Hell, Nina struggles with not only her life as a Brown University student, but also as an intern at Titan Shipping, her father's company. Recurring nightmares about her father's violent death have become a nightly event, but being overwhelmed with guilt from Ryan's unexpected departure to the Armed Forces, and heart ache over Claire being across the ocean to protect him, Nina believes her sleepless nights are the least of her problems—but she's wrong.
Worried about Nina's declining health, Jared must steal back Shax's book for answers. Fighting new enemies, and with the help of new friends, Jared's worst fear comes to fruition. Desperate, he is faced with a choice: Fight Hell alone, or start a war with Heaven."

My Thoughts:

If I thought Providence was great, I really didn't know what I was talking about, because Requiem was truly great. Once you start this book, there will be no stopping. The story will keep you guessing from beginning to end. You will be just as desperate for a solution to their problems as Jared and Nina.

Nina impressed me in this book. Her character showed a lot of growth. She is no longer willing to sit on the sidelines and be the "damsel in distress." She wants to have a say in her future and face her problems head on instead of letting Jared take care of everything.
Jared is still my favorite character in the series. It is hard not to love someone who is willing to go to the lengths he goes to for Nina. He is strong, sweet, sexy, caring, romantic, and nearly indestructible. Half-Angels are definitely the way to go if you are looking for a paranormal boyfriend.

The other characters I feel it is necessary to mention are Claire and Bex. Both are incredibly funny in their own way and they always succeed in lightening the mood. Claire is incredibly kickass but still manages to maintain her girly side. Bex is becoming a strong young man, but his boyish side still shows through every now and then.

The only thing that bothered me was that the characters seemed to have never heard of birth control before. Jared decides abstinence is the way to go because of everything that is going on, and he doesn't want to risk getting Nina pregnant. While I have no problem if you choose abstinence, all I could think was have you never heard of the pill? They were acting like this was an incredibly difficult hurdle, when there really was a simple solution. I mean this book had enough drama without this.

Overall, I am really enjoying this series. The story will drag you in and will not let you go until you are finished. I recommend it to you all.
