"Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarre connection. I’ve sworn him off even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But against all common sense, I’m falling for him. Hard.
Our relationship issues aren’t out biggest problem…
The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And when a new boy shows up a school with a secret of his own, things get complicated fast. I need to choose between my own instincts and Daemon’s.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. Daemon’s never going to stop searching until gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies."

My Thoughts:

Words… I am having a very hard time finding the right words to adequately describe Onyx. If you thought Obsidian was great, then Onyx will blow you away. I had very high expectations for this book, and it exceeded every single one of my extremely high expectations. Armentrout delivers everything you could want in a sequel, even things you didn’t know you wanted. There is action, romance, angst, and of course smart-assery. Onyx has introduced me to some new words that I plan to begin using when I am in need of a good insult, my personal favorite being “douche canoe.”

One of the reasons I believe I am so enthralled with this series is Katy. I have never related to a character more than I relate to Katy Swartz. From her extreme love of books to her witty comments to her sometimes misguided choices, there is just something about her that makes her relatable. I find myself agreeing with a lot of the choices she makes, even the ones that lead to disaster. She always has good intentions, but good intentions don’t always guarantee a good outcome. That being said, Katy is also incredibly strong. She never backs down from a fight and is willing to protect the people she cares about.

Daemon Black is back in full force in Onyx, except this time he is determined to get Katy to like him. He is still the lovable albeit egotistical and sarcastic boy from Obsidian, but now we get to see a lot more of his sweet side. This just makes you love him more. Daemon Black has officially become my all time favorite fictional character (sorry Patch, but Daemon blew me away in Onyx). I could not get enough of him, and sorely missed his character when he wasn’t around. How Katy was able to resist, I will never know. Between the pen poking, the use of the word Kitten, and his wit; Daemon is just one character that I cannot get enough of.

The ending to Onyx will knock you off of whatever you are sitting on and leave you dying for the next book. I need more and I know that I am going to have to re-read Obsidian and Onyx numerous times between now and the release of Opal. This book has left me with what I refer to as a “book hangover.” It’s when I cannot get a book out of my head and I just keep replaying everything that happened over and over again. When I get one of these, I know I have read an amazing book.

I honestly cannot think of one single complaint when it comes to this book, it was just perfect. I finished this book in one sitting and I kind of want to start all over again. O wait! Daemon and Katy do not approve of “kind of”, so yes I want to start Onyx all over again and savor every single sweet moment. I could go on and on forever about how much I loved this book, but I will spare you my incessant fangirling. All in all, Onyx is fabulous and I am sure you will love it.

  3. I am so with you on this one girl! I left that same way after reading Onyx - I love that you call it a book hangover. It took me forever to even want to read another book. I just wanted to think bout Daemone & Katy.

I love that you love Katy. I've had some peeps say JLA was playing to the blogger by creating her but I couldn't disagree more. She rocks for all the reasons you said.

Daemon...*sigh* I loved the pen pokes and Kitten too. I couldn't get enough of his sweet side. I'm with you on HOW COULD SHE RESIST him???

As for Opal- I needed that book like the second I finished Onyx. We shall wait together.

I love getting comments and appreciate every single one of them! It always brightens my day =]

This is an award free blog. I truly appreciate the thought but I simply do not have the time. Comments are an award all on their own =]
